So today I got a call asking me to update the expiry date on my card, even though they had none of the details right. Then they tried to get my bank sort code and account number to supposedly set up a direct debit. What they didn’t know was I work in fraud prevention and was ready to report them to the authorities.

Had a call from someone trying to sell me insurance for white goods, ended up chatting with them for about 20 minutes just to mess around. I even gave a fake credit card number, and believe it or not, they accepted it! Apparently, they’re sending me the paperwork tomorrow!

My father-in-law, who’s quite old and struggles to hear, got sold an insurance policy he didn’t actually want. They even asked for every number from his bank card. I’m trying to see if anything’s been taken from his account yet. Strangely, the number is listed as a repair workshop in Manchester, but their website claims it’s an insurance firm. And to make things worse, you can’t even get through to them on the phone.

Got a call from a company calling themselves HomeCover. They somehow know your details and use the call to kick off an appliance insurance renewal. They ring at odd times but somehow seem aware of when your policy’s about to end. They insist on getting your bank card info but only take debit cards. Just spoke to my parents who got caught up in it - they were really persuasive, asked about their current premium, then offered a huge discount, but said it had to be accepted by the end of the day.

I just had a call from someone named David Quid using the number 0333 3355279. He said there was an issue with renewing my Homecare Insurance because my visa debit card info had changed. Problem is, I don't have any insurance, let alone with Homecare, covering my appliances or anything. It’s clearly a scam, and I’m warning others to be careful. The guy was super pushy and if someone elderly answered, it could easily fool them. He hung up first when I started questioning him, obviously not wanting to deal with my response.

These people are absolutely terrible, taking advantage of old and vulnerable folks just to get their debit card info. Me and my sister found out about this scam and because we have power of attorney over our dad, who’s over 90, we’ve been cancelling his cards nonstop. Today, after he got another call and they tried to rip off £90, my sister had to cancel his card again. Then they phoned him back, threatening to take him to court to get the money. I can't even imagine how they live with themselves, not an ounce of guilt in their hearts.

My dad got another call today from CHCare[###], second time this week, asking for his bank info for some appliance insurance he never signed up for. They ended up taking £90 from his account. Luckily, we blocked the payment, but then they phoned back threatening court action if he didn’t pay. These are definitely scammers - if you ever get a call like that just hang up and never share your card or bank details!

Looks like an insurance scam to me. I noticed some fake reviews on here too, probably by the same lot. The phone number was odd but their spiel was exactly what I expected. They kept asking for Mr Graham, but that’s not who I am. Definitely just trying to grab your card information.

i got a call from 02039944167 from someone who said their name was bevereley bekkeft. they wanted my card info and tried to convince me by giving me a 0333 number to "prove" they were legit. i dont have any policy with them, so it was clearly a scam. when i told them i’d ring back instead of giving my details, they just hung up on me.

be careful with ch care, they seem connected to mcr repairs on 0333 335 5278. they’ve been messing about with elderly folks trying to sell dodgy electrical insurance and charging them loads more than once. if you search their previous number 01614701777, you’ll find plenty of info about them.

Beware, it's a total scam. They try to trick you into giving your debit or credit card information. The whole call felt like a staged act, even someone claiming to be a supervisor got involved. They said they were from "homecare" or something like that, but it was all rubbish. I just ended the call straight away. Very dodgy stuff.
