Got a call from this Careline number at like 4 in the morning. Missed it, but when I called back, they said it was my mum who’d triggered an emergency alert. Bit of a scare, but glad it’s all okay now.

This wasn’t a dodgy call at all. If you miss it, make sure you ring back right away. At first we didn’t believe it was legit until I looked it up online and stumbled across this website. After calling back, I found out my elderly family member had triggered her emergency alert but wasn’t answering the phone. Even though the company had already arranged for an ambulance as a safety measure, 999 didn’t see it as a proper emergency. By the time we reached her and called the emergency services again, she’d had a stroke. Without this alert system, things could have ended so much worse.

Definitely not a scam. Got a call about 30 minutes ago (around 2.30am) telling me that an ambulance was on its way for my mum - they even said her name. Turns out it was true!

This particular number belongs to Apello Careline, associated with those who have a pull cord for emergencies in their homes or sport an SOS necklace or bracelet. If you're receiving a call from them, it’s likely because someone has designated you as an emergency contact. Should Apello struggle to reach you or if the individual who set off the alarm fails to respond, they will promptly dispatch an ambulance to the subscriber's location.

The phone buzzed at 7:16 in the morning, but I let it ring and missed the call. Out of curiosity, I took to Google with the number and discovered it belonged to Apello, a helpline of sorts. After ringing them back, I was informed I was listed as the emergency contact for a chap I’ve never had the pleasure of knowing. Apparently, they dialled me using an old landline number linked to my iPad. They claimed to have reached out to his nearest relative, who mentioned my name as a point of contact. I asked them to take me off their list, and they assured me they would. Quite puzzling and a bit concerning, if I'm honest. I've gone ahead and blocked the number for good measure.

At around ten to one this morning, on the 12th of December, 2022, I was abruptly stirred from my slumber by a call from this number. I couldn’t really converse given the hour. I decided to return the call and found out it was from the Apelo Centre, but they asked me to hold on for a handler to become free. I promptly terminated the call since I didn't have a clue who they were. Quite annoyed, to be honest, about the timing of this interruption.

I was quite baffled by this mysterious phone call until I decided to search for the number on this site. After that, I rang my 91-year-old mum, only to find out she'd inadvertently set off her emergency alarm while in the loo. Thankfully, everything was fine in the end! It just goes to show that the system is effective, as my sister and a nearby neighbour were also informed. Now, I've saved the number under a proper name. I do think the service could do with giving a bit more context about who they are calling and why; all I received was a message mentioning an Arthur Black, which was rather vague!

Dear Anonymous, I noticed you've flagged this number as a hazard (shown in red). However, this line is actually linked to an emergency service that handles alerts from elderly care homes, responds to red cord pulls, arranges ambulance services, and alerts family members. Your baseless remark could unintentionally dissuade someone from answering a critical emergency call. I kindly urge you to reconsider and take down your comment.

Received a rather odd phone call on Sunday. The caller threw out a friend's name-someone who passed away roughly five years back-and claimed I was his next of kin. I quickly clarified that wasn't the case, as he has a sister and a nephew who would fit that role instead. The chap insisted he sourced this information from a solicitor named Hope, but I discovered that particular lawyer retired last year. To top it off, the office confirmed they don’t operate on Sundays and suspected it was just a scam. Quite bizarre, to say the least!

This number belongs to Apello Care Line, which does alarm systems mostly found in retirement homes and similar places. I just got a couple of missed calls from them out of nowhere, probably because my place uses their system. When I rang back, they couldnt explain why they called me as I never triggered any alarm. This isn’t their primary contact - that’s 03333216450. I've now blocked 03333226451 so I don’t get any more pointless calls from them.

This is from Apella Careline. They phoned me while the paramedics were still attending to my mum. I’m not making this up and this number isn’t dodgy at all. (I don’t really get why some folks here got unexpected calls - possibly a mix up with numbers, but it’s definitely a real care provider.)

This number keeps ringing my phone but never leaves a voicemail. At first it seemed like it could be some kind of emergency alert for older folks, but we don’t have any elderly family members set up with anything like that. So not really convincing. Received a call at 3 in the morning! Honestly, who in their right mind expects someone to be up and ready to chat at that ungodly hour? It's absolutely baffling!

At the unearthly hour of 4:20 in the morning, I received a call meant for my frail 97-year-old mother. It’s absolutely appalling behaviour!

If it’s really urgent, why dont they bother leaving a voicemail?

Called by Apello care line. My mum took a tumble. Real reason behind the call. They do ring late at night, I guess that’s why so many folks wanna verify the number.

Appello Careline called me. DO NOT just brush off this number. I almost did, and if I had, I wouldn’t have got to my mum before she passed away.

‭0333 321 6451‬ kept ringing me, typical insurance scam. They tried telling me I’d been in a car crash. Total rubbish.

This number is for a care service for an elderly family member, so it really needs to be picked up.

Got a call from this number at 3 in the morning, which is just ridiculous!

This is a real and important contact. Like some people mentioned, it’s a helpline for an elderly person who listed you as an emergency contact. I got a call from this number earlier today and almost didn’t pick up because so many spam calls come from similar numbers. I’ve saved it now so I know it’s safe.

Those 0333 numbers are perfect for dodgy callers wanting to stay hidden. I got a call like that recently, the person was really stubborn and left it ringing for more than 5 minutes. If it’s some sort of helpline, I don’t get why they’d ring me, especially since I’ve never reached out to them before. Watch out, I reckon these are scammers for sure.

Please dont forget to ring them back. My nan had a fall and hit her alarm buzzer, and the people on the line were trying to reach us to help out. Luckily, we'd already phoned the ambulance before they did. Just make sure you return their call.

Looks like careline tried to get hold of me but I didn’t pick up. They didn’t leave any voicemail. Dunno if they’ll try again or if I should just phone them back?

It's Apello Careline calling, so it's a legit number, but it might not be familiar right away. Maybe you're listed as an emergency contact for someone related to you.

Got a call from a care service about an issue with my elderly dad. Really pleased we checked the number first, nearly just blocked it without knowing.

Both my landline and mobile went off for a few rings each before they cut off. Neither phone received a message.

This firm handles after-hours emergencies for elderly folks in sheltered housing. If you get a ring from them, you really should pick up or at least call back!

Got a missed call on my phone, rang them back and told them to quit ringing me.

Proper nuisance this lot. You tell em you’re not interested and next thing you know, they’re ringing again the very next day. There really oughta be rules to stop these companies. You block one number and then they just use another one to keep calling.

I've been receiving calls from this careline about once every month, typically in the dead of night, and it’s starting to worry me a bit. Thankfully, there's never any issue with my neighbour. I can't help but wonder if they're being compensated for these late-night calls.

worried about this number. it’s some kind of care line. they phone me almost every month about my neighbour, usually dead in the middle of the night (1 am this time). whenever i check, there’s never any issues. since they call so often, makes me wonder if they’re actually getting paid to keep calling? over 12,000 lookups on one number is pretty mad.

Received a call on my mobile at 2 in the morning, which made me jump out of bed due to my worries about a family member in hospital. Unfortunately, just as I was about to pick up, the call ended, leaving me a voicemail that I chose to disregard. Thankfully, this site helped me figure out it was just a pesky nuisance caller. But I'm left wondering, how on earth did they manage to get hold of my number?
