So yesterday I decided to call Vodafone without really planning to, just cos I have a mifi that uses a sim for home internet. Every Saturday, I noticed a £4 charge from something called Sports Room, which I have no clue about and never signed up for. After spending ages trying to track down who these people are, I managed to speak to someone from Vodafone, but it was after their usual hours. The guy told me I need to put my complaint in an email ‘cause that’s their procedure. Anyway, I’ve sent it off now, so guess I’ll wait and see what happens next. Fingers crossed!

So annoyed right now! I’ve been paying for my daughter’s phone since April, been charging her for it, and I just found out that Fancyroom’s been reported since March. Why is it still not taken down? With everything going on in this pandemic, I really can’t afford any extra costs. Proper angry about this.

Beware of this company, they keep taking £4 every week, saying you signed up for some site called Sports Room. When it hits you that you've been scammed, don’t count on Vodafone to give your money back. Total ripoff.

Got a text saying I’m signed up to Sportsroom for £4 weekly from Mobi44, starting 31/03/2020, and to text STOP to 85900 if I want out. This kept adding extra costs to my Vodafone bill. I rang Vodafone to sort it out, they gave me a refund and said they blocked it. So I texted STOP to 85900 and got a reply: “You’ve unsubscribed from Sportsroom by Mobi44. Access ends 29/04/2020. For help call 03333139952.” But money is still being taken from my account! Had to report it to Vodafone again.

You really gotta let your phone company know about scams, and also report them to the police through action fraud. Trouble is, when I tried to report online, the action fraud website wasn't working. Seems it's down at the moment.

Every scam call or text should really be flagged up to the cops' database. The reason we're constantly bombarded with these rip-offs is 'cause the police don’t actually know how bad it is or what kind of scams are out there. Most folks just don't bother to report these things! It's dead simple to report - you don't need to sign up for anything unless you’ve actually lost money. Just Google “action fraud,” click the police.uk link, head to the reporting part, and put it down as a phishing attempt. Before you send it off, there's also a note about letting the NFIB know too.

I've had the same issue, they took £4 from my phone bill every week without me agreeing to it. I only noticed after one payment gone through and I've now blocked the number. I'm with Vodafone too and never remember signing up for any service like this. No warning or alert was sent to me, so it’s got to be some sort of scam, really frustrating!

Got a call from a number claiming it was from a gambling page, but I don't gamble or visit those sorts of websites, so I know for sure it's a scam. If this happens to you, you can report it as fraud and try getting your money back through your bank.

I’m in the East Midlands and not sure if they actually took any money yet. I’ve sent stop back and got a reply saying: you’re unsubscribed from fancyroom by mobi44. Just a heads up, I discovered that you can report spam by forwarding the original text to 7726 using an old style numpad. This sends it straight to your mobile network. Worth a try!
