Got a call today at 12:01 from a woman asking for me by name. I asked who she was, and she said she wanted feedback on a car repair. The thing is, I don’t even own a car! Regrettably, my question went unanswered, as the caller launched into a spiel about a supposed accident I had been involved in. A woman with a really thick Liverpudlian accent rang me, talking so fast and with such a strong accent I could barely make out what she was saying. She asked for someone I’ve never heard of and when I told her she’d got the wrong number, she suddenly said she needed to speak to me about some accidental damage to my car!! I have no clue what these people hope to achieve with all these endless calls. Most of the time I just ignore them, but every now and then I pick up to mess with them a bit, like pretending I don’t get what they’re saying. Sometimes I’ll say something like, “Has someone hit my car? Let me check outside real quick…” then act all surprised and thankful. Got a call from a bloke named Craig at Direct Response using this number. He started asking if I'd reported any car damage, and I told him I wasn’t even aware I owned a car so he’d better fill me in! Then he suggested I might’ve been hurt in a crash, and I said if that happened it must’ve been serious since I don’t recall a thing. He quickly said he’d take my number off his list after that. today i got a call from a bloke with a scouse accent, he said he was from a company named first response and claimed he got my info from some car crash database. i gave him my name (shouldn't have done that) and told him i had no idea about any database and that ive never been in an accident. i said i'd check with my other half and ring him back so he could take my details off the database. but when i called back the number said it couldnt take my call. this seems like a proper scam to me.
