2 yearsWatch out, this is definitely a con! I got a call on my mobile from someone saying they were from Step Change in Manchester, claiming to offer debt advice. When I told them I’d heard nothing about it and asked around, I found out that they don’t actually contact people like that. They kept insisting I owed money, which I don’t, and as soon as I asked for proof, they just hung up on me. Proper dodgy behaviour.Step ChangeManchester2 yearsAs soon as I questioned them about what the scam was, they just cut the call straight away.2 yearsThese people just don’t give up! I keep blocking their numbers but they just ring from another one. So annoying.2 yearsJust like others have said, when I picked up, there was nothing on the line and then a robot voice came on saying goodbye!2 yearsThis number rang my partner’s phone while I was nearby. The person who answered was an Indian woman, and her first question was about debt advice or something along those lines. When asked why she was calling, she just repeated the same question about debt counselling. My partner, already a bit grumpy, told her off quite firmly (won’t say the exact words here) and then hung up. Normally she isn’t one to talk like that, but honestly, we’re both sick to the back teeth of these unwanted, pointless cold calls.2 yearsI've been getting calls everyday from this number and whenever I try to block it, they just change the last digits. No ones ever picks up when I answer. Definatly a dodgy scam so avoid calling it back!2 yearsThey answered the call but then ended up not saying anything when I tried to chat.2 yearsKept ringing but no reply. Looks like they’re just hanging about hoping someone’ll pick up!!2 yearsI picked up and there was just silence, then a robotic voice said goodbye. Doesn’t seem legit, probably a scam.2 yearsBeen getting loads of calls like this. They keep changing the last four numbers so blocking doesn’t work. Sometimes they go on about unsecured loans that the government supposedly covers (!) and other times they’re asking if you’ve got any scammy software on your PC. They use names like Anna but hang up straight away once I say I’m on the TPS list.Anna2 yearsI suspect this is a spammer that keeps ringing me. They use a Wi-Fi connection, so I've decided not to engage with anyone on the line. I've ended up blocking them, yet they persist in calling from various different numbers now and again. I've flagged them as spam, of course.2 yearsI picked up the phone and there was nobody on the other end, then an automated voice said goodbye. Feels like it could be one of those scam calls.Submit Your Own Report (0333 303 4613)
