Had an unexpected phone call from an unknown number, and I haven't a clue who it could be.

I received several calls from a bloke claiming to be from O2, and he was rather persistent. He seemed to have an Asian accent but wouldn’t divulge any proper details. Very odd indeed!

These scam calls from Asia are getting annoying. I doubt they're based here in the UK, but it seems they've got some backing here. Definately worth letting the cops know about it.

Mate, make sure you send all the info and proof about these scammers to the national fraud intelligence bureau. They were faking being from Fonehouse and tried to nick money straight from my bank. Also, they opened an O2 account using my details to scam them. I've reported everything to the coppers and the bank managed to cancel all the dodgy payments, so thankfully nothing was lost in the end.

Got totally ripped off by these scammers. They tricked me into signing a £40 monthly contract. To start with, they sent me a completely different phone. I had to send it back, but since then, they won’t pick up any of my calls. Tried ringing O2 but they weren’t much help - they just say I got the phone already, even though I returned it because it was the wrong one. Now, out of the blue, I get a bill from O2 for £75 a month! Gonna have another go at getting O2 to explain how they’re part of this dodgy deal.

I got exactly what I wanted - the phone was the right one, the price was good, and it arrived right on schedule. I spoke to someone in customer service who was really helpful and answered all my questions easily. I ordered online since I wanted a SIM-free phone (seems like that's the only way these days). There was this caller with a heavy Asian accent who kept yelling. You’d have to practically scream back just to get a word in, and then they’d start shouting too! Doesn’t matter what scheme they're pushing, it’s always the same rubbish. Funny thing is, they always say their name’s Trevor. If you ever decide to call them back and mess around, it’s pretty entertaining.

Right after I put up my car for sale on Gumtree, this number rang me up like within five minutes. The caller told me I’d been involved in an accident and that I could make a claim. Somebody rang me, saying they were from Fonehouse, offering a mobile deal that sounded way too good to be true with a super cheap contract. I asked if there was a shop I could visit to chat in person. They told me that offer was only available over the phone, nowhere else. That sounded dodgy, so I ended the call. Later, I looked up Fonehouse's official customer service number and spoke with them directly - they confirmed it was a scam.
