Someone rang me pretending to be from a nearby vet, saying they found my lost cat but it was hurt and needed urgent care. Then asked for my bank info to sort out the bill. I'm sure they look on Facebook for people posting about lost pets and then try to scam them. Absolutely disgusting! I’ve already reported it to Action Fraud.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the RSPCA, telling me a nearby vet had found my missing cat and asked me to pay a £5 "recovery fee" on a website. The site looked like the official RSPCA one, but the URL wasn’t right. I rang the vet, and they said they never had our cat. It’s a nasty scam, taking advantage of folks already worried about their lost pets.

I spoke to some guy with an asian accent who then handed me over to someone else (caught them whispering during the transfer).
