2 yearsI saw the start of the number and instantly knew it was one of those scam calls, so I just let it ring out instead of picking up.2 yearsSo, I got a call from a woman saying she was with Vodafone and had a special discount offer. Then she asked me how much I usually pay every month? Surely, if they were really from Vodafone and had my number, they’d already know my bill. Seems odd to me - why would they want to reduce what I pay anyway? Feels dodgy.Vodafone3 yearsA young bloke with an English accent, probably in his 20s or 30s, rang me pretending to be from Vodafone’s fraud team. He kept going on about how they never ask for your info and mentioned some dodgy attempts to hack into my account. Then he said he’d send me a code to make sure it was really me. Sure enough, I got a message straight away. Looking back now, it feels like it was just a trick to get into my account rather than a legit verification. The text warned not to share the code, so I told him that. I then checked the number on this site and found loads of people had flagged it as a scam. When I told him I’d hang up and speak to Vodafone’s fraud department, he cut the call immediately. That’s when I realised it was probably a scam. It was a really smooth call though, almost had me convinced for a bit.Vodadone3 yearsGot a call from a young guy, sounded English, probably in his 20s or 30s, saying he was from Vodafone’s fraud team. He was going on about not sharing any info and warning about attempts to hack into my phone account. He wanted to secure the account and said he’d send a verification code to my phone to prove it was really me. Sure enough, a code popped up. Looking back, it seems like a sneaky ploy to get into my details rather than a legit security step. The message told me not to share the code, which I told him straight away. I then looked up the number here and saw loads of warnings about scams from it. When I said I needed to check with Vodafone’s fraud department and wanted to end the call, he just hung up. That's when I realised it was probably a scam. The call felt believable enough to nearly fool me though.Vodafone3 yearsJust got a call from someone claiming to be with Vodafone’s Fraud Prevention.
