I received a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to work for Vodafone, who oddly introduced himself as Peter Anderson! Quite the coincidence, isn’t it? What struck me as suspicious was how he already knew my name and address; it’s not unusual for companies to have this info, especially before asking for further details due to data protection laws. I was sensible enough not to disclose any account or banking information. He mentioned a number I would supposedly get a call from, which I soon found out is linked to a well-known scam. In a rather nonchalant manner, he assured me that I wouldn’t need to do anything or part with any cash, while throwing in a riveting offer of a 30% discount on my bill and a free Apple Watch. Quite the enticing deal, but definitely too good to be true!

Just like that chap a couple of hours back, I've had a call from a lad or lass with an Asian twang on 01615247874, claiming to represent Vodafone. They were promising a lovely 30% off my bills for the remainder of my contract, but to sign up, they urged me to ring 03332420024. Sounds rather dodgy to me! Definitely feeling like a scam.

What a right bother! These con artists wouldn't stop ringing me, it became quite the nuisance. In a moment of exasperation, I decided to humour them and ended up surrendering my personal information. Now, lo and behold, I’ve noticed an unauthorised charge on my Three bill! Classic, isn’t it?
