Oh that’s on me, I just realised I wrote the previous comment. It’s actually the security team from my job, someone tried to break in and triggered the alarm. If you get a call from them, don’t ignore it! lol

Got two calls from these guys at 4 in the morning and then again at 5, which is just plain ridiculous. They left a voicemail claiming it was from some security operations centre. Either way, I ignored it since I don't have any security setup, and who on earth answers their phone at that kind of hour?

I've found out this mobile number belongs to EMCS, which is an Alarm Receiving Centre. They send text alerts to keyholders if there’s any problem with the alarm system.

This place is a security operations centre that handles alarm signals and CCTV monitoring. They get alerts, review footage, and then get in touch with clients and keyholders as part of their job. They only call numbers that have been given to them by customers or their installers. The company goes by the name K-SOC now, used to be called Cougar Monitoring. They’re licensed by the SIA and are members of BSIA and NSI, all of which do thorough vetting to make sure they stick to proper protocols.

They’re a legit firm, I think. It’s an alarm monitoring place. Usually they ring if you’re listed as a contact when an alarm goes off.

Cougar Monitoring rang me a couple times this morning but both just ended as missed calls. I always feel a bit uneasy about calling unknown numbers back but I did when I saw Cougar Monitoring on the caller ID. I hung up straight away and looked them up online. Honestly, trust is hard to come by these days. For a cold call, they seemed a bit pushy to me. I’ll just hold off and see if they try again.

Got loads of calls on this number, started as early as 1 in the morning. After checking the comments, it’s clear now it’s some sort of alarm company that probably hasn’t updated their contact info.

Every now and again, these alarm companies get mixed up with the contact numbers. If you get a call from this number, it’s a good idea to look up who owns it and ring them using the contact number on their official website to clear things up. This isn’t a dodgy number, so it’s unfair to label it as a scam.

03332229099 rang my landline at like 1.33 in the morning. Thought maybe it was someone in the family tryin to reach us, but didn’t pick up coz I didn’t recognise the number. I’ve read on here it might be an alarm firm calling the keyholder, but if that’s true why did they ring my deaf hubby’s phone just 2 minutes after? Doesn’t make much sense to me!

This number is legit for Cougar Monitoring. I’m a key holder for a mate next door and their alarm went off.

Got a couple of calls around half past 4 in the morning on my phone, which was actually off at the time. If it really was Cougar Alarms like loads of others reckon, then I’m clueless why they’d be ringing me since I don’t even have any alarm system fitted.

I work at a shop and this number belongs to the alarm service company. They ring me either if we've set the alarm wrong or if it's gone off.

Phone number showed up but it’s definitely not linked to any security system monitoring. Unknown caller.

I received three calls from this particular number at rather odd hours: the first at 03:28, then another at 04:12, and finally one more at 04:52 today. Quite perplexing, if you ask me!

They really need to put a halt to these crooks before they trick someone who’s not prepared.

So, this is legit. It's a firm that keeps an eye on home alarms. They rang me because I'm the contact person listed, when the actual homeowner didn't pick up after the first alert.

That call is from Cougar Monitoring. If they ring you, it means there's an alarm being watched by them, probably belonging to you or someone you know. You're likely a key holder and the alarm must have gone off.

As a manager and keyholder for the building, I got a call from the alarm monitoring firm telling me the alarm had gone off. I checked with my team and they said they hadn’t armed it properly, but were already sorting it with the alarm company to make sure everything’s now secure. I can say this company’s definitely genuine and on the ball with their alert calls.

They are a legit company, I used to be a keyholder at my old job and hadn’t been removed from their contacts. Not a scam or anything. If they ring you and you’re not meant to be on the keyholder list, just call back and ask them to take you off.

Got a call from 03332229099 earlier - it was Cougar Monitoring checking in about my home alarm. They informed me that the alarm had triggered because there was a power outage around here. Seemed like a legit call, telling me about a real problem.

Cougar Monitoring is a legit firm that keeps an eye on alarm setups, including those emergency alarms for elderly folks. If you get a call from them, it’s most likely due to an alarm linked to you or a family member going off, and your phone number is listed as a main or backup contact. I often forget this myself, which is why I used this site to check the number. I don’t get why some think they’re annoying; they’re just trying to warn you about something important.
