Honestly, I don’t know if it’s real or not, but the number they called from wasn’t linked to them at all. Got a call from Helen on 03332200232, she wanted my meter readings and said she was from PFP, the company that supplies my energy. She just needed to double check my address and postcode. Usually, I submit my readings online on the 4th, but sometimes someone rings to come check them in person. It seemed legit to me, but can anyone be 100% sure?

This number keeps ringing me at all hours that make no sense. I picked up and told the guy that the person they wanted doesn’t live here anymore. He said sorry and assured me they’d remove my number from their records and quit calling.

I picked up and the bloke on the phone said my policy had expired. I asked him "policy for what?" but he didn’t answer. I asked once more and then it went silent. Proper strange call.

Received a dodgy call from someone saying they're 'Lowry Betts' or something, asking for meter readings. Seems like a trick to make you ring them back. Best not to call them back!

Got three calls from this number within just 20 mins. The person calling just stays silent, not a word said. I reckon it’s someone stuck in a pointless job with nothing better to do.

Got a call on my phone but didn’t pick up and no voicemail was left. Luckily I found this amazing site and have now blocked the number. Big thanks to all who help to unmask these fraudsters!

Someone claiming to be from Lowri Beck was asking me for meter readings but on a different 0345 number. I’ve no connection with Lowri Beck at all and already have a trusted way to submit my meter info with my energy provider, which isn’t by phone and not at this time in the month. I've reported this number to the ICO as it’s clearly unwanted and annoying.

Someone said they were from an energy company asking for meter readings, which I’d just given not long ago. Had a look on here and it seems like they’re scammers, so I’ve blocked the number.

They rang me asking for a meter reading for Good Energy. I double-checked with Good Energy themselves, and it’s genuine.

Got a recorded message asking me to send in my gas and electric meter reading to that phone number or put it online at Myreading[###]. Since I already send my readings every two weeks to my provider and did it just last weekend, I figured it was a scam. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call yesterday from 0333 220 0232 while I was out for a jog. The bloke said his name was Greg and asked how I was doing. I told him I was a bit rushed and asked if he could be quick, he said no worries, it’s Bristol Energy needing a meter reading. I told him I’d sort it out and send it within a couple hours. He was pretty courteous and thanked me before hanging up. Still felt a bit iffy because I've never had Bristol Energy ring me for a meter reading before.

They called and started asking for stuff I never gave them permission to ask about. Once i pushed back a bit, they just said 'bye' and ended the call sharpish.

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she had an accent, claiming she was from isupply, which is actually my supplier. She wanted my meter readings straight away, but I told her I needed to wait for my son to get home. Then she asked if there was anyone else who could read the meter, I said no one was around. She then asked if I could do it later that evening, but I said no, only my son could do it and he wouldn’t be back for a few days. She then mentioned she’d arrange for someone to come and read the meter. I called back later and got an automated message from Lowrie Beck Services.

Someone phoned me claiming to be from Npower but kept asking about my tenant, who hasn't lived here for more than a year! I pointed out the mistake since I handle the bills and submit meter readings online myself. She said they’re supposed to take meter readings twice yearly, but usually the reader either knocks or arranges a visit. She seemed to pick up on me getting annoyed and said she’d ring back later. Honestly, I’ll be blocking the number because they don’t seem to have the right info, and after reading others’ experiences, I’m not keen on having any meter installed.

This number 3332200232 kept ringing my mobile for a few days, but I didn’t pick up. Eventually, they left a voicemail saying they were contacting me for my energy provider about scheduling an appointment to install a second gen smart meter. They also gave another number to ring to sort out the timing.

Somebody rang me saying they were calling from Green Network Energy asking for my meter reading. I told them I'd already given it, and that the next one wasn't needed till May.

Got a call from Lowrie Beck claiming to be from #insert energy company name here# about putting in a smart meter. I was already talking on the phone, so it went straight to voicemail. I left a message and then called back like 10 seconds later. Now, the number's blocked. Strange!
