Got a call from someone saying they were 'be smart energy' and that I'd done an online search with them for energy deals. I have used a few comparison websites lately, so maybe one of those passed on my details. They said they had exclusive tariffs you couldn't get anywhere else. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from some idiot claiming to be from BeSmart Energy. Said I’d agreed to their calls on some website, which isn’t true at all. Told them to buzz off and never phone me again. Bet they’ll try again though, so I’m ready with an old whistle to blow right in their ear. Can’t stand these muppets.

Got a call from BeSmart Energy about an energy comparison site I looked at just yesterday. I told the guy I wasn’t interested since I’d already sorted it out. He kept pushing, saying BeSmart might be cheaper and I should switch. No way I’m giving my info to random cold callers. Blocked the number straight away.

I received a fair few calls from this number before they finally decided to pick up. When they did, the person on the line said they were representing an energy firm. They mentioned a specific supplier, which struck me as odd since most neighbouring houses seem to use the same one. To top it all off, they addressed me by name, despite the fact that I haven’t signed up with any company providing my details. They also seemed quite familiar with my area and spoke with a distinct English accent. Quite fishy if you ask me!

I didn’t recognise the number flashing on my screen, so I chose to ignore the call. I entered the digits into my computer and stumbled upon this site - what a relief to have resources like this to alert others! As a widow living on my own, the increase in these sorts of calls is quite unnerving. I’m contemplating changing my number altogether. I've even reached out to BT to lodge a complaint.

This number called me today, a bloke with a British accent said he was with Bsmart energy, some energy comparison firm, asking to talk to my elderly mum. I just said “We’re fine with our current provider, thanks” and ended the call. Seemed dodgy to me, if I ever want to change suppliers I’d rather use one of the trusted comparison websites out there.

Got a call from this number earlier and when I picked up, some robot voice said "you’ve been called today by be smart energy" and then just cut me off. After seeing the reviews here, sounds like the typical scam call I keep getting, so I’m flagging it as dodgy.

Got a recorded call from BT. Had 4 calls from overseas within an hour. One asked for someone who used to live here but she’s been dead for ages, and I’ve been living here for 11 years.

I can only trust what people have mentioned. My phone never actually rang, so it seems they don't bother pretending to be who they say they are, which means my call blocking phone stopped them from coming through. It just showed the number as a missed call. I always look up unknown numbers here just to be sure it's not a legit call. I'd recommend everyone get a call blocker phone, some newer models even come with this feature built in. It works wonders to keep scammers away, so I’m not constantly bothered like I used to be, when I’d get at least one annoying call every day.

They called me last week sayin it was about me boiler. When I said the person wasn't in, they said no worries, they’d send something in the post. Still haven’t got anything. They tried the same excuse today as well.

I got a really unpleasant lady on the phone, her voice was all nasal and annoying. She claimed they were transferring my account to their company. The start of her message was so mumbled, I asked her to repeat it, but she snapped back saying, 'I just told you that.' I ended up getting fed up and hung up. Definitely felt like a scam.

I told them we don’t pay anything like that. They just hung up on me. Plus, they had the wrong name - used my old maiden name from 10 years ago.

Some bloke rang me claiming he was from the tax people, saying there was a warrant because I supposedly owed £350 from 2012 or 2013 - some kind of overpayment they just noticed. Then he said I had to buy Google gift cards from the shop and give him the codes over the phone to sort it out. I told him to jog on and hung up straight away.

Received a call from someone asserting they were linked to our boiler maintenance direct debit. When we firmly told him we had never set up such an arrangement, he bizarrely pressed us for our names, despite already possessing our address. One can only assume his next move would be attempting to snoop around for our bank details. When we accused him of either being daft or a scammer, he abruptly hung up. Quite suspicious, indeed!

Got a call from 03332125896 claiming they wanted to switch my boiler insurance to their company. They already had my name and address. They asked me to confirm the bank I use for direct debit, so I gave them a fake one. Then they confidently asked me to give my bank sort code and account number so they could supposedly reduce the payment. When I kept saying no to sharing any bank info, the person said they'd transfer me to their supervisor for reassurance. I just hung up straight away.

Really polite guy on the phone claiming he was from HMRC. The day before, I got an automated call from the same number warning me about a court case and an arrest warrant. This scam is horrible and seems like it's targeting older people who might easily get scared.

I got a call saying my boiler insurance was about to be moved to their company. When I asked who I was currently insured with, they said they couldn’t tell me. Got a call this morning from some bloke saying my boiler cover was £22 a month and that there were no engineers in my area anymore but he could lower the price.
