I just found out they took £190 from my bank without even telling me, claiming it’s for some kind of insurance for home appliances. Never got any heads-up about it.

Looks like Home Cover Group has rebranded itself as HOME PAYMENTS LIMITED, with Stuart Gibson and Daniel Hopkins as directors. Fun fact: Gibson used to be involved with Service Monkey, JDS Assist, and Davis Group - all of which ended up dissolved. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

This dodgy call kept switching from talking about insurance to some rubbish about nuisance call blocking, then suddenly moved onto equity release and trying really hard to get my bank details. They claimed they were linked to the UK Anti Fraud Alliance and even said they were supported by the Government. Totally sketchy if you ask me!

About three months back, I found out that Luke Ballantyne used to be a Director at HML Consultants but stepped down in November 2019. At the same time, Sarah Aldrige took over as Director. Interestingly, Ballantyne is now listed as Director of another firm called 'Home Cover Group Limited', which also deals with providing extended warranties for household appliances. Their contact number is 0333 2125609. I've seen quite a few reviews online already suggesting this might be yet another scam. When they ring up, they try to make you believe you already have an extended warranty with them and ask for your bank details supposedly to renew it. Feels like they're using the same old trick to grab bank info again.

Had a phone call from a guy named Josh claiming to be from Home Cover Group. He said my policy for fridge, freezer, and cooker was about to expire in June. Thing is, I dont even have a policy like that! When I refused to hand over my bank account and sort code, he tried telling me he wasn’t after the long number, but I wasn’t having any of it. Seriously, don’t give out your bank details to this company or anyone else. If you do have a policy, they’ll send you a renewal letter in the post - they don’t call you up out of the blue. Watch out, sounds like a right scam!

Honestly, these scam artists are the worst. They should be locked up in a high-security jail or sent straight to a mental asylum. It’s crazy how openly they talk about the dodgy stuff they do and even advertise their dodgy jobs on social media - it really says a lot about how messed up their heads and ethics are. So, apparently "We Warranty Limited" got hit with a compulsory strike off by Companies House on the 24th of March. From what I gathered, Sarah Aldridge, who seems to have connections with Rob Sturgess, was listed as the director. Quite a mess!

I recently got a call from a company called Home Cover Group Limited, saying my home appliance warranty had run out and needed renewing. Turns out, they run several dodgy businesses trying to scam people, especially targeting older and vulnerable folks. They ask for your bank or card details to take payment, but don’t give them any info. Just hang up, block the number, and report it to Action Fraud straight away. Stay safe!

yesterday i got a call from someone claiming to have legit info about my kitchen appliance insurance, sounded really convincing so i shared some details. later, I rang my bank and asked them to freeze my account. today, getting hold of the bank has been a nightmare.

got a letter through the post from these lot today. luckily, the bank account number they mentioned was shut down ages back, so no chance they’ll get any cash from me.

Turns out this is the main contact number for Home Cover Group. They seem pretty shady, pushing you to sign up for insurance on your electrical stuff like TVs and washing machines. Their trick is making you think you've already got coverage that’s about to run out, but actually you don’t have any policy with them at all. They don’t even know what brand or model your appliances are. Definitely steer well clear of these lot.
