My mum received a call earlier, and when I picked up, I heard a voice asking for Mrs. @@@. I replied, “Yes, who’s this?” There was nothing but silence on the other end! I then asked if I could know who was calling, and just like that, they cut off the line. Clearly a dodgy scam; if it were legitimate, they would have responded!

A chap called me regarding the renewal of my washing machine insurance. As I was in the midst of telling him that we no longer owned that appliance, he just cut me off and terminated the call without a word. Quite rude, if you ask me!

I received a prompt from them about renewing my washing machine insurance, as it was on the cusp of expiry. I decided to pass on that offer.

I gave it a whirl, and they claimed I was shelling out far too much on council tax. If that's the case, wouldn't they just fix it for me? Sounds like another dodgy scheme if you ask me. They hung up as soon as admin fees were brought into the conversation!

Beware of these individuals; they are nothing but fraudsters. They will try to convince you that your council tax band is incorrect, leading you to think you’re shelling out more than you ought to be. Stay vigilant!

Received another call from this number, and it was quite strange. I could hear faint music in the background, and after saying hello a couple of times, they just cut off. This marks the fourth time they’ve attempted to reach me.

I've had an absolute nuisance of a time with this same number ringing me thrice, claiming I was supposedly in the wrong council tax band. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all! The caller got rather irate and slammed the phone down on me. Honestly, I’m in Band A, so there’s no issue to begin with. Then, about ten minutes later, that same number buzzed my phone again, but I decided to save myself the hassle and hung up. To my surprise, an hour later, they tried their luck once more, insisting once again that I was in the wrong band and that if I handed over a hundred quid, they could sort out a refund for me. The cheek of it!

Received a dodgy call about a council tax rebate, requesting a £125 processing charge. Just hang up and don’t engage!

Yet another dodgy call! They claimed to be wanting to chat with my mum regarding her council tax. Considering she doesn’t have to pay any, I quickly realised it was a scam. Just a heads up to everyone - stay vigilant!

I received a phone call from someone claiming they could help lower my council tax by a quarter. When I inquired about the cost involved, they mentioned a £125 administrative fee. Naturally, I probed further about what would happen if this service didn’t pan out, and they assured me that it would simply be referred to another valuation office at no extra charge. It became quite clear they were after my money from the outset. I also raised the possibility of my council tax going up instead, and they feigned disbelief, saying that was impossible. I graciously declined and, as I suspected, I've come to realise it’s just a scam.

I had a rather dodgy phone call earlier today, where the caller claimed that my Council Tax Band was incorrect and that I could qualify for a 25% reduction, based on what others in my vicinity were supposedly paying. I responded with a bit of scepticism, saying, “Oh, is that so?” And just like that, they cut the line. Having looked into my Council Tax situation some time back, I knew full well that my band was spot on, so it was clear that this was a scam!

I just received a rather peculiar message on my answering machine-some woman shrieking and then cackling unpredictably. I looked into it and found out it’s linked to this number. Quite baffling, really!

I've received a couple of calls from this number, with the most recent being just yesterday on 16th March 2017. The caller claimed that my council tax was misclassified and that I was entitled to a refund of £7,000. They suggested hiring a solicitor to sort it out, but warned that would cost me everything I stood to gain. Instead, they offered to handle it for a mere £85. As soon as they began talking about fees, I ended the conversation. My husband took the initiative and reported the incident to the police. If you're looking for more details, you can find quite a bit online. Apparently, the authorities are already aware of this particular scam. According to the police, these con artists will just take your money and vanish without a trace. The officer who spoke to my husband mentioned that the phone number in question isn’t even a legitimate one.

Today, on the 14th of March 2017, I received a call from this number. There was a voice in the background, seemingly telling a child to quit fiddling with what I presume was the phone. After that, everything went silent.

I gave my elderly mother, who's 90, a call the other day. Thankfully, I picked up just in time. A chap on the other end asked her for £120 to resolve an issue with her council tax band. I found it all rather dodgy, so I told him as much, and then he promptly disconnected the call.

Received a call this morning from what I can only describe as a rather courteous chap with a distinct English accent. He reassured me not to fret, as I apparently didn't have any outstanding payments. It appears I had overpaid my council tax and was allegedly in line for a refund! However, when I mentioned that I no longer reside at the address he mentioned, he abruptly cut the chat short. Quite peculiar, really!

They called up asking for my mum by name and claimed she was allocated to the incorrect council tax band. To which she replied that the council tax was actually under my name, her daughter's, the one they had just conversed with. The person on the other end seemed a bit baffled and said they'd send something in writing instead, before abruptly ending the call! Quite odd, if you ask me!

Avoid this number! I had a bloke call me saying I was misclassified in terms of my council tax band. Apparently, he had some inside info on how folks could downgrade their bands, and he offered to assist me with it. When I mentioned that I already resided in the lowest band available, he sounded taken aback. He then stated he’d update his records and promptly ended the call. Utter nonsense!

Beware of a scam involving upfront charges for council tax reductions. The name of the company is All Claims Solutions. It would be wise to consider reporting them to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

I had a call this evening from a number that pretended to be from All Claim Solutions, stating it was about my Council Tax. They left a different phone number, 03330062254, for me to reach back out. Thankfully, they left this message on my voicemail. I've gone ahead and blocked both numbers now.

From what I've gathered from previous remarks, this particular caller was insisting that I was overpaying on my council tax due to some supposed mishap with my property's banding. I didn’t let him ramble on and promptly interrupted him, stating I’d handle it on my own before ending the conversation. Honestly, I’m baffled - with a multitude of similar nuisance calls happening and this number not even being withheld, why on earth can’t we put an end to these intrusions?

I received a rather suspicious call from someone who seemed to be familiar with my council tax band details. He claimed that my band was overly inflated and offered to help lower it for me. He warned that if I opted to reach out to the council directly, they’d send someone to evaluate my situation-at a potential cost of £300-and there was a chance my band could end up higher or lower as a result. He insisted his company had the solution. I was quite sceptical about the whole thing, so I told him I’d run it by my neighbours first.

Yesterday afternoon, just before five o’clock, I had a rather unwelcome call from someone claiming to represent the VOA. He insisted he could assist me in obtaining a reduction on my Council Tax, referencing the "Council Tax Act 2006". I calmly informed him that I am well aware of how Council Tax and its bandings work, and requested that he not contact me again. He responded quite rudely and hung up abruptly. To my surprise, he called back immediately. Recognising his number, I chose not to pick up, and he subsequently left a rather offensive voicemail, threatening legal action against me for not showing him the proper respect as a public servant.

I’ve come across a rather dubious service claiming to help lower your council tax band. It’s worth noting that you could easily handle this yourself by reaching out to your local council for a free reassessment of your banding - there’s absolutely no need to fork out cash for such an unnecessary service. Just a heads-up, though; there’s always the risk that your banding could actually increase! When I received a call from them, I inquired about how they obtained my details, as I suspect they might be contravening the Data Protection Act. I certainly hadn’t consented to have my information stored or used in this manner, so I made it clear that I expect my details to be expunged from their lists without delay.

When I confronted the lad over the phone, expressing my scepticism, he claimed to possess a wealth of knowledge in the subject. I pointed out that his statement implied I lacked any understanding, to which he retorted that was far from the truth. He then complained that I was driving him mad and abruptly ended the call.

These days, it seems like countless unknown numbers are ringing our phones; we tend to ignore them unless we receive some sort of discreet signal to pick up.
