This number has rung me so many times and each time it just leaves a blank voicemail - it’s happened four times so far. Funny enough, it ended up being the reason I switched to Octopus Energy, since I only got British Gas because Rebel went under. Honestly, if I could get in touch with whoever runs this line to tell them that their awful service is what pushed me away, I’d definitely do it.

Probably British Gas, same as loads of other people have said. Switched my plan with them and then got a text a few days later saying they’d give me a discount. Too little, too late. Their call only rang briefly, so I couldn’t pick up, and they didn’t leave any voicemail. I reckon they might be using some call centre who’s just ticking boxes. Honestly, whatever.

I’m actually switching suppliers at the moment, and after seeing the reviews I’ve just blocked this number. After all these years, if they never saved me a penny, why would I waste my time answering their calls now? Bit too late for that, isn’t it!

Got a call from this number but when I picked up, there was total silence. Like a lot of others, I’m actually trying to switch my energy provider right now. If this really is from British Gas, they need to be called out for the hassle they’re putting people through.

Got a call from British Gas while I was sorting out a switch to a new energy supplier. The deal I’m going for saves me about £705, which is a lot. They tried to keep me with a 20% discount offer, but sadly, it just wasn’t enough to compete. The lady I spoke to was really nice and polite, though!

I got a call from British Gas trying to sell me a better deal. This happened after I was switched over to them automatically since my old supplier stopped trading. To check if the call was legit, I used the chat feature on my account online. The team said they didn’t know the number that called me but did confirm that the direct debit info and payment details mentioned during the call were actually set up.

Got a call where nobody said a word. We're actually moving over to British Gas because our current provider stopped operating. This feels pretty dodgy if you ask me! We're based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Got a call like 4 times from someone claiming to be British Gas, but they never asked any security questions or asked me to verify who I am. If that’s really British Gas, I’m so happy I switched providers. Definitely wouldn’t give them any of my details.
