Got an email from this number claiming I owe Eon Energy more than £300. I called Eon myself and they told me I don’t owe anything at all. So yeah, this is 100% a scam. Watch out!

I got a call like this too, they said they was from Eon. They told me I owed £67 for gas and electricity, but I’m actually with British Gas. Just brush it off and block the number, it’s a scam from some people apparently in India trying to con folks. I let Eon know and they confirmed it’s a scam from there, so don’t hand over any cash or get caught out.

On 06/10/2020, I got an email saying I owed £107.48, telling me to settle the balance. The phone number given in the email was 0333 202 4842. Foolishly, I decided to call it. The person who answered was an Indian lady, and I could hear traffic noise in the background, like she was standing right in a busy street. She couldn’t explain why I was supposedly being chased for an old balance linked to a prepaid meter from about three and a half years ago. Plus, the property had a credit balance on it at the time. Definitely a scam. Later, I checked the number on my phone and sure enough, I started getting texts about owing money to O2, which I never even use. Completely dodgy! Watch out for these scammers.

Got the same message two days running. It was a reminder saying I still owe money for the energy I’ve used and to call that number. Bit annoying how they keep messaging.

On the 14th of June, I got a message from the same number, which supposedly belongs to Eon. But when I called, it just paused and redirected me somewhere odd. I'm sure it's a scam because the number seems to be from a private business, not a proper utility contact. Plus, I’m not even an Eon customer!

Got a message from this number saying I owed some money and had to get in touch with them or they'd add a £10 fee for debt collection. What a load of rubbish, straight up scammers!

Got the same text on 5th April, but I just ignored it since I’ve never had any gas or electricity with Eon. After a bit, I started getting calls from Arvato, which I found out online might be Eon’s debt collectors. I’ve blocked their phone numbers, but I’m still getting texts every day from "e.on" saying I need to get in touch urgently. They don’t include a callback number either, so it’s not like I can text them back. Feels like a scam to me, trying to wear you down!

Back in January 2017, I started getting these dodgy texts saying I owed money for energy I supposedly used. They warned me to pay up or else there'd be a £10 charge for debt collection, and gave a number 03332024842 and a website eonenergy.com/pay. It never mentioned my name or account info, which instantly set off alarm bells for me. Still gets sent now and then, so watch out!
