they’ve rung me a couple of times but no answer. then finally someone picked up with a foreign accent saying they were from eon and asked if i knew i was being switched over to eon next. i said yes, i’ve already logged in, sent my meter readings and paid my bills. they said alright, they’d take me off the call list to keep me informed. weirdly, they knew my full name right away but didn’t ask for any other info. is this really eon or some kind of scam?

Got a call from someone saying they were from Eon. They claimed I had an outstanding bill, but I told her I’m not falling for any scam and that I’ve never been with Eon anyway. E-on Energy debt collectors are really relentless. I had a late electricity bill and got an email warning I'd be charged a £20 penalty if I didn't pay. I was away for a few days so thought I'd deal with it later and just take the late fee. But while I was gone, they kept calling my mobile several times every day and sending emails. It's quite stressful dealing with them like that. Honestly, if your bill’s unpaid, best just to ring them up and arrange a payment plan, or else they’ll keep pestering you nonstop!

I wouldn't give this number a thumbs up at all! The call was completely silent-a bit odd, if you ask me. I even tried saying 'hello' a good four times, and still, not a peep back... So, Eon got in touch to follow up on that Direct Debit mess from December. If you’re a customer, they’ll want to review your account to see if any payments slipped through or if you actually paid too much. While chatting with the bloke on the phone, I sorted out a new Direct Debit straight from my online account instead of handing over my info.
