It said it was Barclays but I reckon it was a spoof. They wanted to know if I’d done a transaction with Wizzair from Egypt and told me to answer Y or N. Thing is, I’m right here in the UK. After I marked the message as spam, they sent another text saying I’d cancelled my internet banking account, but my app kept working perfectly. Something fishy for sure.

This has got to be a scam. I got a message saying I'd cancelled my mobile app when I never did, telling me to ring 03332001014 for help. I’m a Barclays customer so I checked with them through their app first, and they confirmed that number is theirs but said they haven’t sent any texts today. Never trust texts like this, always go through the official app. Seriously, this is 100% a scam.

Got a message from BARCLAYCARD about a verification code for my mobile banking, mentioning the last 4 digits of my account. Thing is, I’m not even signed up for mobile banking with them and normally, Barclaycard emails I get always show the last 4 of my card, not my account. Don’t call the number in the msg, it’s a scam pretending to be Barclaycard.

Barclays called me about some adjustments to their overdraft charges. At the same time, I got an automated message saying I was overdrawn and fees would be applied. Thing is, I’m not even overdrawn. So I rang this number to check. They said it was a glitch in their system and they’re sorting it out. Classic Barclays, they really don’t seem to care much about personal accounts compared to business ones.

Definately fraudsters, I got texts with info from my bank statement and thought it was legit. Luckily my daughter advised me not to call them back but ring the bank myself. When I did, they said it wasnt from them. I asked how they had my data and the bank rep reckoned it’s probably coming from inside the bank, which is crazy! this really is a legit Barclays number. if the text has another set of 4 numbers, it means somebody else put your phone in their secure banking page. usually it’s nothing to worry about but still good to double-check. if your gut says it’s dodgy, get in touch with them using another way, but this number for sure is proper.
