Got sent a quick message that looked like it was from Barclays saying my payment didn't go through. It had a link to their app which seemed really legit, so I clicked it. The automated system then asked for my bank details to "sort out" the problem. Something felt off, so I didn’t hand over any info. After I ended the call, I spotted a ‘Fraud’ warning pop up on my phone. Nearly fell for it!

It said it was Barclays but I reckon it was a spoof. They wanted to know if I’d done a transaction with Wizzair from Egypt and told me to answer Y or N. Thing is, I’m right here in the UK. After I marked the message as spam, they sent another text saying I’d cancelled my internet banking account, but my app kept working perfectly. Something fishy for sure.

Got a text a while back saying my Barclays online account had been cancelled, and if I wanted help I should log in and click the bell icon at the top right. The message was from August 2023, but I only just spotted it because Apple had locked my phone for the past three months. Definitely looks like a scam trying to catch me out.

I was trying to figure out if the number 03332001014 was from Barclays or Tesco Mobile, and it turns out the one starting without the zero, 3332001014, is Tesco Mobile. The leading zero definitely makes a difference, but it’s all so confusing. Guess that’s just how things are these days with numbers and all the digital stuff.

This has got to be a scam. I got a message saying I'd cancelled my mobile app when I never did, telling me to ring 03332001014 for help. I’m a Barclays customer so I checked with them through their app first, and they confirmed that number is theirs but said they haven’t sent any texts today. Never trust texts like this, always go through the official app. Seriously, this is 100% a scam.

Got a message from BARCLAYCARD about a verification code for my mobile banking, mentioning the last 4 digits of my account. Thing is, I’m not even signed up for mobile banking with them and normally, Barclaycard emails I get always show the last 4 of my card, not my account. Don’t call the number in the msg, it’s a scam pretending to be Barclaycard.

Got a text saying it was from Barclays with some sort of verification code and a note saying "If this wasn't meant for you, ring 03332001014". I don't even have an account with Barclays, so I’m not going to bother calling back, seems dodgy and like it could be a scam.

Barclays called me about some adjustments to their overdraft charges. At the same time, I got an automated message saying I was overdrawn and fees would be applied. Thing is, I’m not even overdrawn. So I rang this number to check. They said it was a glitch in their system and they’re sorting it out. Classic Barclays, they really don’t seem to care much about personal accounts compared to business ones.

I tried using the Barclays app with fingerprint login while I was overseas, but it kept saying there was a problem signing in and told me to ring some number. Absolutely pointless, just wasted my time. Ended up deleting the app because it was no use at all.

Got a message from my mate’s messenger saying: At 11:24:48 on 22/06, you added a new payee from your account ending 4153 using your mobile banking app. If this wasn’t you, ring us on +44 333 200 1014. Pretty sure it’s a scam since I don’t even have a Barclay’s account. Looks like my friend’s messenger got hacked.

Like a few others have mentioned, got a call claiming to be Barclays asking if I’d added a new payee, and if not, to call 03332001014. Quite sneaky really! You think you’re about to stop a fraud, but instead you end up getting caught in one yourself! Best thing is to always double-check the number against what’s on the back of your bank card - the banks do remind us for a reason!

Definately fraudsters, I got texts with info from my bank statement and thought it was legit. Luckily my daughter advised me not to call them back but ring the bank myself. When I did, they said it wasnt from them. I asked how they had my data and the bank rep reckoned it’s probably coming from inside the bank, which is crazy! No sorry or anything, just told me to warn the scammers next time I get a call that I know they’re tryna steal my info. Since I didn’t give anything away, I was told to just ignore any more calls!

this really is a legit Barclays number. if the text has another set of 4 numbers, it means somebody else put your phone in their secure banking page. usually it’s nothing to worry about but still good to double-check. if your gut says it’s dodgy, get in touch with them using another way, but this number for sure is proper.

I got a text saying it was from Barclays with a mobile banking verification code. I’ve never shared my number with them and don’t use mobile banking anyway. The last four digits of the account they mentioned aren’t mine. Feels like a scam trying to steal banking info.
