I got a call asking if our place had black mould, which is silly cause it’s not really a house. I could tell straight away it was some sort of scam. I hesitated and then played along, talking about all the rooms - the palace room, arborium, nest, lounge, study, kitchen, and three bedrooms. The only spot I thought might have mould was the crypt. Then she just cut the call off. Felt pretty rude, honestly.

I kept asking where exactly they were from, like which council or housing group, but they never said. They just kept banging on about mould and damp stuff. I told them I wasn’t interested and told them to buzz off.

Got a call from a woman on my phone, claiming to be from some housing repair service. When I asked who I was speaking to, she said it was the housing disrepair team, sounded like she was just reading off a script. She then started asking about any damp or mould issues in my place. When I questioned why she needed that info, she said they were assisting with social housing tenants. I told her I’m not living in social housing, and she just said “Oh, alright then, have a good day” and hung up. Really feels like some dodgy scam preying on vulnerable folks.
