I got some work done with this company over a decade ago, yet they still ring me up now and then. Even though my number’s on the TPS list, they keep at it. They keep switching the numbers they call from too. I tried choosing "refuse" which sort of helped for a bit until a new number popped up. They called this morning, my wife picked up, saw it was Everest, and handed me the phone. After what I told them, I don’t reckon they’ll bother again! Either way, I’ve blocked the number now.

I received a call from Everest, quite amusing considering it’s the tallest mountain on the planet, and I've always dreamed of tackling its summit. Interestingly, some time back, I invested in windows from a firm by the same name, and my experience was less than pleasant. They were a complete con and of dreadful quality, leading me to replace them within just two years. The replacements I opted for, which were only half the cost, are still in grand shape a decade later! How ironic, isn’t it?

The number showed up as 0161 218 6292, which is a Manchester area code. The caller spoke really badly English and told me I’d been in a car accident that wasn’t my fault. I told him to leave me alone since I’m unwell (I’m dealing with a brain tumour and cancer). Then he insisted I give him all the details, which I refused, warning I’d report his firm (Accident Helpdesk) to the Ombudsman and they’d face a hefty fine. He just laughed and said I should take it up with the Prime Minister! I told him he was being daft and he hung up. Definitely block both these numbers straight away!

It's a dreadful gig, honestly. Even though I don’t pick up when they ring and they never bother leaving a message, I can't fathom being one of those fools attempting to con people for a wage. In my half-century of being a consumer, I have never encountered a more dreadful company than Everest. Back in 2009, they utterly messed up the installation of a bay window. They managed to put in two side windows that didn't even match the height of the front ones-absolute shambles! And the thickness of the frames was astounding; they naively assumed they could simply swap out the upper side panels without touching the lower ones too (can you believe that would leave a 3.5cm gap for the breeze to waltz in?). You'd think they'd have taken the hint by now. I've blocked the number, yet they just keep ringing. Definitely some kind of robo-caller. Back in the 60s and 70s, someone sponsored it with the phrase “fit the best”. After that, they pushed “surprise peas”. And after that... well, who knows.

I reached out to them and they confirmed they were Everest Home Improvements. I had some new windows and a patio door installed by them a year and a bit back - about 15 months ago, to be precise. Unfortunately, they severely damaged my brickwork during the process. They've also failed to complete the installation of three windows and I've had scaffolding up outside my property for all this time! Yes, that's right, it’s been 15 months, and I still haven't received any word on how they plan to address the damage. The last time they visited was on 4 January 2018.

Everest, with the cost of their stuff, have the cheek to keep calling every week asking if we need more - windows, doors, conservatories, garage doors. No thanks, we’ve already fallen for that once and would never go with Everest again. The quality just isn’t up to scratch, sorry but it’s the honest truth.

Over the last few days I've had loads of random cold calls on both my home phone and mobile. I never picked up any of them because if they knew me, they would have left a message, right? I looked them up and turns out they were from Zenith, Everest, some telemarketers, an insurance place and a claims company! Had a rather peculiar call at 10:17 this morning. A chap on the line requested to have a word with me and insisted on verifying my address. When I pressed him for his identity, I repeated the question four times, yet he stubbornly stuck to his script about confirming my address. Frustrated, I decided to hang up. I’ve been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for nearly two decades, but it seems that's of little consequence these days. Now, I’m off to file a complaint at ico.org.uk. I think it’s crucial for everyone to report these bothersome calls there-every little bit helps!

This number rang me at 7:35 in the morning. I assumed it was someone from my family so I got up and picked up. To my annoyance, it was Everest again, even though I’ve told them several times I’m not interested in their double glazing. I asked them to take my number off their list as the person they’re looking for no longer lives here! Then they had the cheek to ask “Well, what’s your name then?” I just hung up, but I’m sure the calls won’t stop. Does signing up with TPS actually help? Seems like it doesn’t at all.

Everest really have gone too far. I had some work done by them more than 20 years ago and once they get hold of your number, they just won't stop ringing. I've asked them to take me off their call list several times and they swear they will, but it never happens. Now they've gone beyond windows and doors - they’re doing drives, fitted kitchens, and now even artificial grass! So heads up everyone, that’s probably the next thing they’ll be pestering you about.
