Whatever you do, don’t share your info with them. If the caller is from Overdale, they’re working for Lowell who probably bought your debt for pennies on the pound. You owe nothing to Lowell directly since your contract was originally with the credit provider you signed with. Best bet is to just block them out, don’t respond or hand over any details. Completely steer clear, no need to get involved.

Got a call from Overdale Solicitors recently. It's legit, not some scam. They're working for big firms to sort out unpaid debts. When I took over my house, Eon sent me a bill that was way off. I sent them loads of proof that the amount was wrong, but Eon just wouldn't fix it. The bill they want now is like two or three times what it should be. Been disputing it for nearly 3 years now. Not handing over a penny!

I got this number from 1471 when I called, so I rang back and they said it was Overdales Solicitors, a name I’ve never heard before. They claimed to be a debt collection agency - but I don’t owe anyone anything. They tried to get me to give out my personal info, which I didn’t do. This company should really be investigated by the authorities, they’re clearly just phoning numbers without any reason. Proper scummy behaviour.

Got a call on my mobile from someone claiming to be with Overdales solicitors. They wanted personal details to "verify" me, but I told them I wouldn’t give any info without knowing what it was about. They said it was in a letter they’d sent, which I never got, so I just ended the call and blocked the number. Then a few days later I got a letter supposedly from Overdales. I looked them up and emailed them, and they said they had no record of me, so it’s gotta be a scam. They rang again on my landline asking for Mr T instead of my full name. Watch out for these scammers!

For me, it was legit. A debt collection agency called, but they got the debt from the original company without explaining why.. So technically it's not valid, but this kind of thing can happen if you have unpaid debts from before. I spoke with them and they appeared to be sorting it out properly. My view - neutral / honest.
