I saw the caller ID and assumed it was Sky ringing me, so I picked up. But when I answered, there was absolute silence on the other end. After checking the comments here, seems like it's just another scam number. Definitely going to add it to my blocked list! ** Scam alert - BLOCKED **

When I mentioned I wasn’t with that company anymore, which apparently they got from some "National Database," they were shockingly impolite.

Just some low-paid office worker probably on minimum wage, having a go at scamming people again.

Try reaching out to Scambusters or have a look on Google for the “Calum’s List” charity site - it’s about the forced takeover of energy firms under Community Right To Buy. Just a heads up, Calum’s List can be pretty heavy going since it mostly serves as a tribute to around 60 people they knew and thousands more who sadly took their own lives due to debt. Honestly, when will the politicians and those useless, overpaid clowns at OFCOM actually do something to tackle this awful phone scam and phishing mess?

Totally agree with what's been said here. Got a call from a call centre somewhere in Asia-Pacific claiming to be "representing EDF", which I seriously doubt is true.

Avoid responding to calls, texts, or emails from unknown numbers - they’re often scams. Don’t engage with suspicious callers and never return calls to numbers you don’t recognise. If you get a scammy call or text, report it straight away through official channels like the police or Ofcom. You can text the number and details, including silent calls, to 7726 and follow any instructions to confirm. Also, make sure to use your phone’s built-in spam reporting tools for both calls and texts by forwarding spam messages to 7726. For phishing emails, forward them to [email protected].

Got a call claiming to be from EDF Energy about renewing our plan. They couldn’t tell me when our contract finishes or how many meters we have, which EDF should definitely know! Total scam, just ignore and block them, then notify your energy company.
