WARNING: For the past few weeks, I've had these calls coming in saying I'm on some sort of Government list for vulnerable people due to health issues. They tell me to get in touch with my doctor because the letter they claim I got was sent by mistake. A bloke named Mike Mackie told me to ring 0800 0288327 to confirm if I'm actually on this list. Honestly, if you’re silly enough to ring that number, you’re probably gonna get scammed!!! BE CAREFUL!

They rang up asking for my husband and said he was on some government vulnerable list, and that he'd get a letter telling him to isolate for 12 weeks. When it got clear she was trying to push for us to have our prescriptions sent to us, I stepped in and took the call.

This morning I got a call from a woman who wanted to know how we were managing with the whole Coronavirus situation. Before she went on, she asked me to verify my address. I accidentally gave her the incorrect one, but she didn’t seem bothered and just carried on chatting about being careful and safe. She also mentioned a website to check out. I'm kinda unsure what this was about, though.

Got a call on Sunday about 5 in the evening from a bloke who knew my name. He asked if I had received a letter from the government or if I needed assistance contacting my GP. Apparently, the doctor would send over a form to fill out, which would then go to the council to arrange some support. Seemed quite legit to me. I’m from Kent and this happened on 26/4/20. I received a voicemail from this number claiming to be from the shielding registry. The thing is, not a single person, not even my GP, has mentioned anything about me needing to shield. Quite baffling, really!

Got a really odd call and I only answered after a while. The guy said he was from some NHS helpline and was asking for Derek. That’s definitely not me, and it felt really fishy. My elderly mam, who’s been self-isolating for 12 weeks and is on the vulnerable list, got a call from a woman claiming she was checking up on her. She asked if my mam needed help sorting out her pension, but she said she was fine. Then, out of the blue, the lady asked for her date of birth before hanging up. Now Mam’s really anxious about sharing that kind of info with a stranger.

Just after I'd signed my daughter up for that government extremely vulnerable scheme, I got a call. I assumed it was about the registration, but turns out she was ringing about the letter we'd received. Seemed like a genuine caller checking in on the extremely vulnerable people list for coronavirus.

this was a guy from scotland, same sort of thing as the others. when he began chatting, i asked him straight away for the nhs number of the individual he was calling about, and he gave it to me right away. the questions he asked seemed like stuff he already knew, cause whenever he asked something, i told him to just say it and i’d either confirm or deny. everything went smoothly, hope this info is useful to you all __retired blue!

I got a call late Saturday night from a woman saying I could get free food and shopping deliveries since I’m on the vulnerable list. She sounded pretty sincere but it felt a bit dodgy because of the time. Not sure if it was legit or just a scam, but I really hope it was the real deal.

Because of being on the vulnerable list with coronavirus, someone rang me up asking if I required any help and to let me know that my doctor would be getting in touch soon.
