Got a voicemail afew mins ago from this number, looked it up here. They were attempting to scam my partner for their bank info. Ended the call straight away.

Got a voicemail saying “IMMEDIATE action needed for unpaid water bill, ring us back on this number.” I phoned back but they couldn’t give me any info. I looked up the number and found these reviews. Told them it sounded like a scam and the person just went quiet, so I ended the call and they never rang again. I then found the proper Southern Water contact and reported it. Seems like they’re aiming at folks who really owe money on their water bills.

The voicemail claimed to be from "Southern Water," but I've never given my mobile number to any utility companies (honestly, I can’t even remember my own number off the top of my head!) So, this has to be some kind of scam. I’m pretty sure those saying "It’s definitely Southern Water" are actually working with the scammers!

Just checked back with Southern Water after my last message, and they confirmed it’s a scam. My account is all sorted, no issues linked to any old address. They took down the phone number (which doesn’t even appear on their official site and has an extra digit in it), and said they’ll pass it on to the authorities. I reckon those comments saying it’s legit are probably from the scammers themselves. Honestly, it’s quite terrifying.

I got a call from a woman who had a hard time saying my name, which honestly isn’t that tricky. She asked for the first line of my address and then my date of birth. I cut her off and asked who she was, why she was calling, and what does she need my dob for? She just hung up. Also, it looks like this number is connected to Southern Water (I’m with another provider), and these calls keep coming nonstop, even leaving automated messages to call back. No way I’m responding. I’ve got a feeling this was a scam! They rang me just as I was heading out, and I had a bill not long ago. Foolishly, I gave them my address, postcode, and date of birth for ‘security’. They even took my email! They asked if I wanted to pay then, but I told them to call me back at 4.30pm. Never got a call back! Not that I would’ve given my card info on the phone anyway - I just don’t do that! Didn’t even think twice about sharing my personal details, since most callers already seem to have that before ringing.

Got a call from this number and some guy claimed he was from Southern Water. He started asking loads of personal stuff like they usually do. When I asked what it was about, he said I owed some money. I told him to jog on. Checked my Southern Water account later and the amount they mentioned was way off. Total scam alert. Don’t give out your details and always ask for a proper paper bill to check.

Somebody called me from there and I made up a fake postcode. Surprisingly, they still told me the name of the person linked to that postcode. The lady, Laura from North Yorkshire, even gave me the contact details and address for Southern Water’s head office in Worthing. It’s worrying she shared a private address like that. When I tried to get his details like name, address, postcode or email, he didn’t have a clue. After a long back-and-forth, he finally promised to take my number off their list so I wouldn’t get any more calls.
