When I asked them to repeat their company name three times, it was a bit muddled and definitely sounded not like Dukes. It seemed to be an Indian call centre. I declined to engage, as the name they provided rang no bells for me. They insisted it was about an overdue debt I had supposedly filled out a form for. Afterward, I contacted Dukes directly to sort things out, and they confirmed that they don’t offload their operations to India, nor did they recognise the number that rang me. I’ve raised concerns about a potential data breach, as it seems there’s a leak somewhere. I'm currently awaiting a response from a manager, which should take up to 48 working hours. If I don’t hear anything back, I plan to escalate the issue to Action Fraud to take further action.
