After you make a claim for a car repair with an insurance firm, they ring you up. It’s a total con. They make it seem like they’re connected to your insurance provider, but really, they only have your name and car registration, nothing else. They try to piece things together by asking questions, but I didn’t give them anything extra. They act like they know everything about your claim. They’re really pushy and won’t share any clear info about who they are. They say they’re an accident claims company that works alongside insurers, but my insurer had never heard of them. The truth is they just use your name, number, and car details to trick you, knowing you’ve made a claim. Best to avoid them altogether.

I’ve had loads of calls from these people after a car crash. They actually know your full name and car registration, which makes it seem like they’re from your insurer. They try to get you to give them details about the accident, saying it’s for a claim, but they don’t have to know that stuff. I never gave them anything. Feels like a total scam. Sometimes they don’t even state the company name properly, or they just make one up. They tell you your insurance has shared info with them and that you might have agreed to it somewhere, but my insurance definitely doesn’t do that. I’ve got missed calls from various 0333 numbers too, and the same bloke rang me three times! Honestly, steer clear - it’s just a scam.

I got a call on my mobile from a guy who said he was from something like 'National Injury Claim'. He knew my name and my car’s registration, which worried me a bit. He told me they’d supposedly got my info from my insurer, about some side collision involving my car, and said they were working with the insurer to help me claim compensation for personal injury. I told him I hadn’t been in any accident like that, and he said he’d correct his records as it must’ve been a mistake on the insurer’s end. It didn’t sit right with me, so I rang my insurer directly and found out they hadn’t shared my details with anyone and that it’s actually a scam. They've now taken the scammer’s number on record.
