Got a call from Marks and Spencer about a holdup with my furniture order.

This was a call from MARKS and SPENCER’s call centre - I didn’t pick up, but later got an email asking me to ring them back. On my mobile plan, I have to pay for calls like this. The order I made was delayed, and they wanted me to call to confirm I still wanted it. Honestly, I think that’s a bit much - I’ve already paid, of course I want it! When I asked where the call centre was, they said SOUTH AFRICA. Seriously, MARKS and SPENCER, can’t we employ people here in the UK instead? I’m really disappointed.

On 31 October 2019, I got a vague call from a guy with an Asian accent who told me to call back about my Marks and Spencer order. He messed up my name and since I haven’t had any issues with that order, I reckon it was a dodgy scam call.

Some guy with a heavy Indian accent called me, saying they were going to replace my electric meter next week. There was loads of noise in the background, sounded like a call centre buzzing away. When I asked how I could be sure it wasn’t a scam, he just went silent. I told him to find a real job and then ended the call.
