I saw this number pop up but had no clue who it was so I just let it ring out. Figured it might be one of those dodgy scam calls.

Today I got a call from someone pretending to be from O2, saying I could get 40% off my line rental. They wanted a code that O2 supposedly sent me to activate the discount. Since I have 4 lines with them, they even promised a free iPhone 13 Pro. Sounded a bit fishy. You actually get two texts, one has a code for resetting stuff. I only just figured out it was a scam when I got a message and email saying my password was changed. I quickly ended the call, reset my password and updated my secret question before they could mess with my account any further. I can't believe I fell for it, especially since something similar happened with Three a few years back. Some dodgy person actually changed my contract and had a phone delivered to a different address!

This was definitely a scam call, trying to convince me there was some sort of deal on my phone charges. I just mucked around with them and kept them hanging up the phone. That’s exactly how I handled it.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were from O2, offering a 40% cut on my line rental. They asked me to share a special code supposedly sent by O2 to get the discount.

*BE CAREFUL* Near instantly I got a message about a one-time code I'd requested. Never asked for it. Remember, if anyone rings you up asking for that code, they're not from O2. If you think it’s dodgy, ring O2 on 202 to keep your account safe.

That first message about the code was the giveaway it was a scam since I never asked for that code at all.
