However, whenever I press them on why they're contacting me from a number that isn’t associated with O2, or ask for my account details, they suddenly cut off the conversation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a call purporting to be from O2, where they prodded me for some personal information, claiming it was necessary to utilise the 'forgot your password' option for my account. They touted amazing discounts and irresistible freebies that seemed far-fetched. Ultimately, they dispatched an incorrect item and requested that I return it to their so-called 'warehouse'. In essence, they were attempting to secure a new contract under my name while persuading me to send them a brand-new phone to go along with it. Quite a clever scam, if you ask me!
