No idea who this number belongs to but it just keeps ringing my phone non stop. I’m absolutely fed up with it! When you’re dealing with an elderly relative who’s really poorly and needs constant care, it’s proper stressful. If I ever find out who’s behind this, I swear I’d go round and sort them out myself! I’ll be taking this further to get to the bottom of who’s sending these annoying calls.

If the recorded message doesnt say who they are right away, thats a big warning sign. Keep in mind scammers call loads of people but only a few actually fit their scam. Do you really think every EDF client is calling in here? Seems unlikely to me.

This number has called me three times now and I’m pretty sure it’s an energy scam. I’m supposed to get smart meters fitted soon but I handle everything through the website, so I know they wouldn’t ask me to text yes to verify anything.

I’ve got a smart meter visit coming up and EDF keep sending texts from this number telling me to press 1 to confirm, suggesting if I don’t the appointment will be cancelled. Sounds like a classic phishing scam if you ask me. Don’t press 1! Best thing is to just log into your account the same way you originally did to make sure the booking’s still on. The live chat on their website is really handy for sorting this kind of thing out too.

Sounds like it’s an EDF number alright - they had my full name and postcode, but it was all automated. They kept saying I hadn’t added credit to my prepayment meter recently and asked why. My account’s not overdue or anything, so I guess they’re just trying to pressure you into topping up when it’s not necessary. So yeah, it’s EDF, but they do seem to push hard to get you to pay more or sign up for extra services, which is really irritating.

even tho your edf energy bill says ‘please pay £###.## by date,’ you can bet a week before that due date hits, edf will call you constantly (some automated voice like 3 times daily) to remind you to pay. they just don’t stop. if you block one number, they just call from a different one. best to block em anyway cos its pure hassle and you’ll pay the bill regardless. total greed if you ask me. plus prices are going up again, and 50 does all these calls too.
