He knew my name and was pushing mobile stuff. I asked if he worked for BT, but he just kept dodging the question. Then I threw a very specific question at him, since I’ve worked at BT for years, and he just shut me down! That says it all really!!

A woman called me on my mobile saying she was from a firm partnering with BT. She told me my BT Business contract was about to finish and asked if I wanted to renew it. I knew it was dodgy because I actually renewed it just four months back! I asked how she could prove she was from BT and she insisted she was. I told her to only get in touch by email so I could confirm it was legit, then she just hung up. I saved the number on my iPhone and blocked it, so I won’t be getting any more calls from that number.

Got a call from DMSL claiming they’re ringing for BT - absolute lie! They might already have some details about your account but don’t hand over anything to them. Always ring BT yourself to sort out or renew any contracts, don’t deal with these clowns! BT do work with genuine partners, and if you call BT directly, they’ll tell you who’s legit for your region.

This morning, I received a call from someone named Kim Smith (definitely not Chase) about my broadband account, claiming it was due for renewal. I was rather sceptical and told her I'd return the call. She insisted she'd ring me back, which she did, but the account number she provided was completely off. Upon confronting her about the scam, she grew quite defensive, asserting she was indeed Kim Smith from BT. I ultimately ended the call. I’ve since verified with BT, and it turns out it was all a ruse. Just a heads up to everyone - stay cautious!

Lovely voice on the phone, said she was ringing "for BT" and wanted to speak to the boss by name, about renewing the broadband plan linked to the number ending . at the address . post code . They had pretty much all the info right, but the boss isn’t in right now so she said she’d try again next week. Looking back, it does seem a bit fishy though, feels like one of those scam calls.

Got a couple of calls from Kim Chase who had the right company info at first, but then on the third call she used a totally different company name. They seemed to know loads about me which was really strange since I hardly ever share my work details except my name. She claimed she was from BT and I just played along. Then I got passed over to Andre, who said he could sort out my BT renewal. When I asked if they were really from BT, they said yes. Andre spoke with a South African accent. Honestly, sounds dodgy to me. I’ve reported it.

Honestly, I’ve never heard of these folks before and I’m pretty sure I never shared my number with them. They ring me up every single day, but the moment they hit my answerphone and I ask who’s calling, they just hang up. Doesn’t seem like something a legit company would do, especially if there was a real need to contact me.

We received a rather relentless call claiming to be affiliated with BT, asserting their role in managing our renewals and even having our account details at hand. A representative named 'Kim' insisted she wasn’t attempting to persuade us to abandon BT. In the end, we agreed that BT could reach out via letter to address any matters regarding our contract. I got a call from this number earlier today claiming to be from BT regarding 'My BT Account'. Thankfully, the caller slipped up and used the wrong name to address me! I quickly corrected them, letting them know I was not 'Robert' and that they had dialled a wrong number, then hung up. It dawned on me afterwards that it was indeed a 'Scam', and for once, the caller (in this case, a woman) had blundered! Please be cautious, as they might not make the same error of getting your name wrong when they ring someone else next time.

Got a call from a woman saying she was with BT, telling me our calls had been dropping. I told her we just upgraded with BT recently. She goes, yeah, you’re still under contract with BT (which I found a bit odd since she said she was from BT). Then she mentioned she could upgrade me to include some 4G call drop thing, but I told her I already have that. Then she just ended the call.
