Received a call yesterday purporting to be from EE. I expressed my doubts and requested some specifics about my account, but he claimed he couldn’t divulge any information because of data protection regulations. He insisted he wanted to check my account to help me save some coins, so I enquired about the number of lines I had. He answered that, but when I probed further about how many were mobile phones and how many were data contracts, he simply refused, citing the same data protection excuse. Should you wish to bar a particular number, I’ve devised a little scheme where I’ve set up a contact labelled 'Spam' and marked it as blocked. Whenever I encounter those pesky nuisance calls, I simply add the offending numbers to that contact. It’s been brilliant so far! In fact, I’ve had to expand my efforts and now have ‘Scam 2’ and ‘Scam 3’ on the go, seeing as I’m fortunate enough not to suffer from industrial deafness or have any claims for accidents or PPI to pursue. By doing this, they can’t even reach my phone!

Absolutely certain this is not a legitimate call from EE. I've seen confirmation directly from them on Twitter! Unfortunately, I can't share a screenshot here, but you can verify it yourself. On 26th February 2015, they responded to @annabeebeauty and clearly stated that this number isn’t theirs and advised not to divulge any personal information. I receive calls from this number quite regularly, at least once a day. To make sure I don't answer, I add it as a new contact on my phone and name it, "Do Not Answer...". This way, whenever "Do Not Answer..." calls, I simply ignore it without any issues. Not surprisingly, the "Do Not Answer..." contact has quite a large and growing family, as they all get added to my contacts list.
