They purport to be from O2 offering discounts, but it's a right dodgy call! Best to just hang up immediately!

Total scam! They claimed to be from O2, offering me an upgrade. The timing seemed off since I’d just renewed my contract three days prior, so I had a hunch it was dodgy. Politely declined and ended the call. To be honest, the signal was terrible in my area of Suffolk, so I could hardly hear what they were saying. Later on, I spotted a couple of texts from the genuine O2, with my account access code and a stern reminder: ‘NEVER disclose this code, even to O2 representatives.’

*ALARMING ALERT - I've received a call claiming to be from O2. When they reach out, you’ll get a text message containing a code that O2 has sent. This situation arises because they’re attempting to access your account to initiate a password change, and the text serves as a verification step. They promise a tempting 25% discount but insist on obtaining the code from you. DO NOT SHARE THE CODE!* This is a tactic they employ to alter your password and subsequently order a new phone using your account. It's a widely recognised scam - NEVER disclos your code to the caller. I've reported this number to the authorities.
