This number kept ringing my home phone loads of times. When my answerphone picked up, it even said my real name and asked me to press 1 if it’s me, 2 if it’s not me but I’m at the same address, or 3 if I know the caller. After finding out it was probably a scam, I didn’t press any buttons and just blocked the number and got rid of the voicemail.

Today, on 17 May 2024, I had the peculiar experience of receiving two calls from the number 0333 003 2303. I chose not to pick up since I don't answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise. I've not set up a voicemail either. Lately, I've been facing some issues with Shell Energy concerning my broadband services, and I can't help but wonder if there's a connection here. Got a call around 1.38pm from a number claiming to be Shell Energy, asking me to verify who I was. Before I could even say anything, a robot voice spoke my name and told me to press 1, 2, or 3. Got a call from SHELL ENERGY BROADBAND saying I haven't settled my monthly bill yet. They also handle Gas and Electric bills through this number. The automated message never asks for your bank info, since SHELL already has that. Just pay attention to the details they give. You can always hang up and just log in online to see your account and pay if necessary. I keep getting these calls because I never set up direct debit, so SHELL just reminds me monthly to sort out the payment.
