They told me there was suspicious activity on my PC and wanted me to give them access. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this kind of scam call from a ‘Microsoft’ centre in Reading. If you let them near your machine, they’ll lock you out and steal your info, then demand a fee that could be hundreds of pounds - basically blackmail! It’s a definite warning sign; if they manage to get into your system, they could easily lift your personal data and extort a considerable sum to return your access.
