Got a call from some bloke called Sam who was going on about problems with my flat. He said he was from the housing repairs team, but since moving in last year and dealing with loads of issues, I’m pretty familiar with the actual staff - been chatting with the lady at the housing office for ages, proper on first name basis by now. I didn’t recognise this guy at all. The line was dodgy, a bit muffled with some background noise, not too loud though. He might’ve sounded Indian, but I’m rubbish at accents. Anyway, I cut him off straight away - smelled like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone with a typical Indian accent, and I immediately thought it was a scam. The bloke claimed to be from a property firm wanting to discuss issues like mould and damp in my home. I told him I lived in a cave, which seemed to throw him off a bit. After that, he quickly hung up. Honestly, it’d be great if the authorities actually did something useful and cut these scumbags off for good.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from housing but they never mentioned which housing association exactly, so I just ended up hanging up. Seems dodgy, probably a scam.

They said they were from a housing repairs company, but since I deal with the council myself, I spotted it was a scam straightaway.

I answered the phone and some woman with an Indian accent claimed she was from my energy provider. I asked her which one exactly since we’ve got separate accounts for work and home. She wanted to check my direct debit info, but I told her straight up to get lost.

Got a call from this number but I ignored it and didn’t pick up. Ended up blocking it straight away. What really creeps me out is how they managed to get hold of my phone number in the first place. Surely these fraudsters must be working with stolen contact lists.

I got a call from someone saying they were from road traffic control. When I ended the call, they had the nerve to ring back and ask why I’d hung up! They were really rude and came across as quite aggressive.
