I got a call from someone with a southern English accent claiming to be from SSE, wanting to set up a chat about cheaper energy rates. They started asking for personal stuff like if I’m the one who pays the bills and asked me to confirm my surname. I didn’t give anything away. Then they asked about my age group and payment methods, which I also refused to share. They kept trying to sound nice but were quite pushy about needing that info. I asked why exactly they needed it and eventually they just hung up. When I called back, the message said ‘best quotes’ were calling about my boiler.
