Saw an unknown number but didn’t pick up.

At about 2pm on the 30th of August 2024, I got a call where the person asked 'How are you today?'. When I asked who was calling, they said it was Sarah and it was regarding some issues with my housing. I cut the call off straight away and blocked the number. I actually own my own home and have no issues with housing at all.

I picked up the call but they just went quiet and then ended it. After seeing these comments, definitely putting that number on my block list.

Got a phone call on Friday the 30th of September 2024. Being an older person living alone, I'm quite cautious about calls from numbers I don't know. Right from the beginning, it seemed clear to me that this was likely some sort of scam. I simply told them I wasn’t interested and quickly hung up. Didn’t share any personal information at all!

Definitely felt fishy, like some dodgy AI trying to scam me. Not buying it at all.

I thought it was someone I was meant to hear from so I picked up. The voice sounded quite robotic, maybe they said Sarah? They were asking about fixing things in the house, but when I told them they’d got the wrong number, they asked if there was mould or any cracks. I told them again it wasn’t the right number and then they just stopped calling.

Beware of an AI scammer pretending to be ‘Sarah’ - yeah, the same one who keeps ringing about that car accident I was in. I humoured her scam a few years back just for the laugh. When you actually get the person on the other end, they can sound pretty convincing, but they lose their temper quick if you throw silly questions their way. :P Blocked the number straight away.

They called saying there was an issue with our house. When I asked what the problem actually was, they didn't really say anything. Told them we had no problems and just ended the call. Number's now blocked.

Got a call from the housing dept, but it was one of those AI voices. I kept asking what council it was for, not once but thrice, and it just got all muddled up. Ended up hanging up cause it couldn’t answer. Pretty much sounds like a standard SCAM to me.

I got a call from someone called Sarah, said she was from some kind of housing disrepair assurance scheme. She spoke with a proper clear British accent and seemed quite polite at first. Said they were ringing folks in social housing to check if there were problems like mould or damp in their homes. But when I asked her which council she was from and the exact street or neighbourhood, she just cut me off and ended the call! Bit cheeky if you ask me. Totally triggered my scam alarm - best to steer clear of these lot!

This is a scam, they use some kind of robotic voice. Best thing is to not pick up and just block them straight away.

Avoid answering this number at all costs!!! I thought it might be a legitimate ring from a company with an 03 prefix, so I answered without thinking. The caller started off asking how I was, but when I asked for their name, she said something about a housing disrepair issue. I quickly told her I don’t have any such problem and called her out for being a scam caller, and she hung up suddenly!!! I accidentally rang back and got a voice message in a foreign language. I've since blocked this number, no chance I’m dealing with it again!!!

Got a second call from someone named Sarah with a polite British accent saying she was from 'Halvins' about repairs to my house. I ignored the first call since I thought it was a wrong number. The number was pretty much the same as before, just the last 4 digits were 3272 this time.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Sarah from the housing benefits department about some repairs. The voice sounded really robotic and after a few questions, I asked if it was a real person. They said “No” and then kept firing off more questions. I just told them to “buzz off, you scammer” and ended the call. I reckon plenty of folks might fall for this one without realising.
