I picked up a couple of calls from this number, but bizarrely, there was nothing but silence on the other end. When I tried to ring it back, I was met with a message saying the number was unavailable. Quite odd, isn't it?

Here we go again with those blokes from India and Pakistan, engaging in their usual thievery. Honestly, it's enough to make anyone's blood boil!

Total scam, plain and simple. They rang me up claiming to have secured a payout of £2,550 plus another £1,550 in interest from my bank due to PPI mismanagement. When I queried the name of my bank, I cheekily said "Bank of Paris" (which is obviously not a real institution), and they didn’t bat an eyelid. They went ahead and provided me with a reference number and an ID number, insisting they wouldn’t request any banking or card details. They mentioned something about the funds being stored in a 'wallet'? I was then passed over to another chap, who I assume was of Asian descent, who proceeded to ask for the ID and reference numbers I had just been given. I purposely supplied him with incorrect numbers, which clearly threw him. Next, he wanted my phone number to verify the details? He then supplied me with yet another set of ID and reference numbers that were completely different. This was getting ridiculous-he even suggested I wasn’t very tech-savvy and offered his assistance in accessing this so-called wallet. He told me to set my phone to loudspeaker (for what reason?), and navigate to the Play Store to download an app called AnyDesk. This would enable him to remotely access my phone and swipe my bank details, personal info and passwords! It’s absolutely imperative that these fraudsters are dealt with. Make sure to report them for phishing to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority!
