Got called by someone claiming they knew all about the state of my council house or whatever. Obviously, they only bother with social housing tenants, since going after private landlords is a bit too risky for them. Honestly, these types should be shut down for good.

Got a call from someone claiming I reported issues with mould and cracks in my flat. The thing is, I’ve never had any problems like that nor have I told anyone about it. Sounds like they’re just making up a reason to ring us up out of the blue. Didn’t hang around for long, ended the call because I don’t really trust calls from strangers.

I looked up the number online and didn’t find any legit company tied to it, so I just let the call go to voicemail. I usually avoid answering calls from numbers that don’t show up in a Google search.

The person claimed to be a housing officer, but honestly, it felt like I was chatting with some kind of automated system given how robotic the replies were. Also, apparently, there hadn’t been any issues reported about the property.

I picked up the phone and then suddenly, it went to some kind of robot voice. I kept quiet and all it did was keep saying "Hello, is anyone there?" over and over. Honestly, the easiest way to tell is just not chatting back and if it keeps going, it’s clearly not a real person!

I got a call from this number today (16/11/23), but the moment I picked up, the line just dropped like they hung up straight away.

This number rang me up earlier today (16/11/23) and showed a +44 on the caller ID. When I picked up, there was a bit of a delay before it connected properly, which immediately made me suspicious it might be some dodgy call. A woman spoke, greeting me and asking how I was, then said she was calling about repairs on my house? I told her I hadn’t arranged any, and she quickly said OK and hung up. Her voice had a clear English accent but sounded a bit robotic, like one of those pre-recorded messages you get from a supermarket self-service checkout. Honestly, no clue what that was about, but it definitely felt like some kind of phishing attempt.

I got a call from a lady speaking English with a proper English accent. Right from the start, when she asked "how are you," I knew something was off. When I asked what it was about, she said it was to do with a housing issue I had. I told her I don’t have any housing problems, and she just ended the call. Definitely looks like a setup for a scam.

Got a ring from this number today. They started with the usual spiel about damp and mould in the house, saying it was reported by my housing officer. I told them I don’t have one, which seemed to irritate them a bit before I ended the call. Funny thing is, I *am* having issues with a leak just now and the insurance know all about it, so how on earth did they get my number? Feels quite fishy to me!

Got a call about some "housing repair issue," sounded like pure spam to me, so I just cut the call straight away.

Got a call about some housing repair, but ive never mentioned any problem before. Quite confused really.

Got a call from a lady who claimed she knew about my leak issue. I asked her name and after a bit of pushing she said it was Sarah Wilson from something called the Housing Repair Group. I looked them up and there’s no record of that company anywhere. We do have a leak but I never shared my number with anyone for repairs, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. With all the recent storms causing damage, I bet loads of people with leaks are getting caught out by this sort of thing.
