Got a text claiming to be from Barclays asking if I’d authorised a standing order to some random company I’ve never come across before. I thought it was fishy right away because the message came from a mobile number. When I looked up the 0330 number they told me to ring if I hadn’t made the payment, it didn’t check out - turned out to be a scam. Just be careful out there.

Just got a text from 07962833100 saying my debit card was linked to an Apple Pay wallet under the name David’s device, with a number 0330 912 8303 to ring if it wasn’t me. I had no clue what that was about and freaked out a bit. But after checking with Apple, turns out it’s a total scam. Honestly, who tries to scam people just trying to get by like me, especially when I’m disabled? Seriously, go do something honest with your life! Posting this here to warn others - don’t get caught out like I nearly was!
