Total scam alert! I got a text from the number +447859224896 claiming they’d blocked a payment of £1400+ to ETORO LTD pretending to be from Tide. The message said something like “TIDE: We’ve stopped a payment of £1430.56 at ETORO LTD on 2026-01-27 for your safety. If it was you, reply Y to proceed. If not, call 03301202538 now.” They sent a couple of identical texts with that same info, trying to make it look legit. Don’t be fooled, it’s just them trying to trick you into calling that dodgy number!

Got a call from +44 7721 972071 claiming to be Santander. They said there was a payment of £259.99 made at John Lewis and gave me a one-time code: 230164. If I hadn’t made the purchase, they told me to ring 03309127897. Seems like a scam to me.

Got a call from this number 03309127897, someone pretending to be from Santander asking me to verify a £345.99 transaction to John Lewis. Really worried since I actually have an account with Santander and buy from John Lewis quite often. Didn’t pick up or call back. Seems like a scam to get my OTP.

Got a text saying: “SANTANDER: Your One Time Passcode is 03604 for a £345.00 charge to John Lewis. If this isn’t you, ring 03309127897.” Thing is, I don’t even have a Santander card, so this has to be a scam right? Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Like others have said, got a message claiming to be from Santander about something to do with a John Lewis purchase. Just ignored it straight away!

Definitely a scam, steer clear. They say they're from Santander but that’s a lie. I got a text claiming I’d authorised a payment for a certain sum, and if not, to ring a number they gave - which is not Santander either. Both the calls and messages are fake. Just block, report, and don’t engage.

Got a text from this number +447721972477 saying SANTANDER sent a code 230164 for a 259.99GBP spend at John Lewis. Weird thing is, I dont even have a bank account, way too young for that! Feels dodgy to me, definitely a scam. If you’re seeing this, don’t trust it and maybe ring 03309127897 to be safe.

They called me twice today, and I answered both times since I was waiting on someone. But each time I said hello, the line just went silent!
