It's quite disheartening, really, yet it's essential to remain vigilant against such tactics. Always let them know you’ll reach out to them later. The safest approach is to look up the official number for the genuine company and contact them directly. Given that I have an account with Amazon, I became an easy mark for their antics.

This elusive number kept ringing my landline today at 1:26 PM and continued to do so every hour! However, every time I pick up, it's just dead silence on the line. What a complete annoyance! Honestly, the most sensible thing to do seems to be to keep the phone off its base. That way, it cannot ring, as it's not connected to the stand. Quite clever, if you ask me!
