What's this Redress Scheme about??? Some bloke named Tom kept ringing me, but from loads of different numbers like 0333 0577314, 07441 921511 and 03308284316. I’ve had enough now and have just blocked them all.

They keep ringing me like four or five times a day, but each time the number's kinda different. It shows up as spam on my phone, so I just ignore the lot.

Got a call from The Car Group today asking for a 13-year-old boy. Turns out they dialled the wrong number, but weirdly enough, they were after a kid with the same name as my son! What a strange coincidence!

Got a call from a guy with a thick foreign accent saying he was from O2, trying to push a 5G sim upgrade. He wanted my email address, which felt a bit off, especially since I’m already an O2 customer. Felt dodgy to me, probably a scam.

This number ignored the TPS list completely, definitely seems dodgy. Hope someone looks into it and sorts it out soon.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, he was going on about switching from 4g to 5g. I let him talk for a bit but then he began asking for my personal details. Once I told him I wasn’t with 02, he just dropped the call. Definitely smells like a scam to me!

Totally a con. They said they were from O2, but I played along and said I’m actually with O2 myself. Then I told them to hang on as I was tracing the call. After that, the caller got all rude and just said, ‘I’m done chatting with you,’ which made me laugh. So yeah, I blocked the number straight away.

Had a call from someone telling me to switch over my SIM to 5G. I told them my phone already switches to 5G automatically when I’m in the right area. They then asked for my email to confirm it. I replied that they should already have my email on file, so there was no need to ask. They just said ‘Alright, goodbye’ and hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam.

This number rang me claiming they were from O2 sales, saying they were dispatching new 5G SIM cards because 4G was going offline soon. They said it wouldn’t cost a penny and my contract wouldn’t change. Then, they asked for my email to send a secure link for verification. I asked them a couple of times which email address they had on record, but they couldn’t tell me. I told them to jog on and ended the call.

I usually don’t pick up these calls, since I set special ringtones for family and mates. All other numbers just get the default tone from my phone so I can easily tell not to answer. It really cuts down on the hassle, and they have no clue that the number’s actually in use.

Received a call earlier today. My phone smartly flagged it as a possible scam and prevented it from coming through. The number appears in my call history, but my phone didn’t actually ring at all.

Received a call from this number earlier today. I chose not to pick up, but I did some digging online. Apparently, it’s connected to a scam that’s masquerading as the O2 mobile network.

Got a call on Wednesday 4th Jan 2024 at about 3:16pm from someone saying they were O2. They asked if I was an O2 customer, but I told them they should already know if I was, since they’d have my info. I suspected right away it was a scam call, so I mentioned I work for the Met Police and that the call was being recorded. The person didn’t like that at all, said “oh buzz off” and hung up. Just swap the "a" for a "u" in O2 and you’ll see what kind of people they really are!

Got a ring from this number on 20/12/23, someone pretending to be Tesco Mobile. They said I needed to swap my SIM for a 5G version, asked if I'd be around tomorrow to get it. Then they wanted my email to confirm things. I told them no way, Tesco would have contacted me properly if that was true. Right after that, they just cut the call. I'm going to tell Tesco and report it to Action Fraud. Also blocked the number straight away!

This number just called me with a bloke speaking in a really heavy accent, saying something about 02 shutting down their network and everyone needing new SIM cards. I asked him straight up where he was ringing from and even mentioned I was recording the chat! After about five minutes of nonsense about tech stuff that made no sense, I told him he was definitely trying to scam me and told him off in not so polite words. Watch out for this one!

Got a call on my home phone today. The person on the other end claimed I was lucky and could receive a new O2 SIM that’d be active from 01/01/24. I asked them if they knew who they were actually speaking to or any details about my account. Turns out they had the wrong name. Still, they pushed me for my email, but I told them if they were really from O2, they’d already have that info. Definitely felt like a dodgy scam to me.
