BEWARE OF SCAMS! If you get suspicious calls or messages, make sure to report them on the police’s fraud website. Just search for 'action fraud' and head to the 'police.uk' site. From there, find the page about reporting phishing and carefully read all the instructions. You’ll need to add all the scam info you have, like links or email addresses. You don’t have to sign up or give out your personal info unless you’ve been financially affected. The only way the police can keep track of these fraudsters is if everyone takes the time to report all these dodgy contacts.

I've shared a couple of posts about what steps you need to take if you wanna put an end to these scam calls. It’s a bit of work, for sure, but I’ve been doing it myself and keep logging scam calls and messages on the police database (I've got the link saved in my bookmarks). The thing is, it’s gotta be thousands of folks making these reports before any real action happens, but luckily, loads of people report scam calls here daily. Got a reply from my MP which was quite something, but honestly, one person raising concerns won’t be enough to make a difference right away.

I kept getting calls non stop from the same number, finally picked up once and could hear kids screaming and laughing loud in the back ground before hanging up after a few seconds. Just got another call from them trying to find someone called “Lisa Birkby”, turns out they had the wrong number all along. Total spam, they’ve rang me loads of times.

Just had a look at "one life funeral plan" on Companies House. Since they started on 16th December 2020, they've never filed any accounts and don’t seem to have any assets at all. Heads up if you’re thinking of dealing with them.

Got a call saying my card failed some security check and I had to register it again. They said they were from Halifax for Sainsbury’s Bank, but those are two different companies, right? Didn’t give them any info and later got another ring so I just blocked the number. Reported it to Sainsbury’s but haven’t heard back yet. Pretty sure it was a scam.
