Received a call from Domestic and General regarding the insurance for my washing machine that’s on the blink.

Had a rather suspicious call this morning, claiming that my home appliance insurance was lower than I thought. They urged me to terminate my existing direct debit and initiate a new one instead. However, they didn’t even have my right address and seemed clueless about my current payment arrangements. When I declined to provide my bank details-since my current provider already has them-they abruptly disconnected the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I picked up the phone, though I’ve no clear recollection of their words. I mentioned that I’m feeling under the weather and that I can't handle calls unless they're urgent. It struck me as a typical cold caller. They mentioned they'd ring again later, but sure enough, they did just that the following day. I decided to block their number.
