Got a call claiming to be from "OPUS, via S&S Energy" about fitting a Smart Meter. Like we’re all daft or something! Told the guy about 4 times that if I want one, I’ll sort it out straight with OPUS, but he just didn’t get it. Ended up hanging up on him. Such a pointless waste of time!

Don’t recognise the number as I never pick up calls from unknowns. This number has rung me at least three times since 6th February, all at different times. They never leave a voicemail. On one occasion, I could hear people talking in the background before the call ended. Seeing the comments here, I’m also with Ebico and recently got a text from SMS, their smart meter contractor. I arranged for SMS to ring me back at a set time, but they haven’t yet. I’m definitely going to speak to both Ebico and SMS about sharing my details without permission and these annoying calls.

Keeps ringing my mum who’s quite old, and sometimes she gets woken up because of it. If the goal is to persuade her about a smart meter, this is definitely not the right approach. I’ve ended up blocking this number now.

After reading the comments, I got the same call and put it down as spam. The curious bit is now it’s flagged as spam, everyone on my network gets a heads up. Looks like my provider’s in hot water for breaking GDPR rules by handing out my contacts to some third party without asking me first.

This business seems genuine, they do smart meter installations. I got a letter and email from my energy provider saying they’d be in touch to sort out a smart meter install, and gave this number to call. I also double-checked by phoning my energy supplier. The only details they ask for is to verify your address and check if parking is an issue.

This number has called me 3 times in just a couple of days. I'm on the TPS list, so it's a bit odd. I haven't answered any of the calls since I was out twice, and the last time they hung up before I could pick up. My answerphone is always on but they never leave any message. Sure, my energy provider did send a letter recently about installing a smart meter, but I’d expect them to follow up properly, maybe call from their official number and actually leave a message.
