Just a heads up, if you're looking at old bills, the legit British Gas contact is 0333 202 9802. That number's actually been stopped now, but it reroutes people to 0330 808 3880, and that one's a dodgy scam number. Be careful!

About a month back (May 2024), I got a call from this number (0330 808 3880). The person on the line claimed to be from British Gas, insisting that both of my meters were malfunctioning. So a mate told me this is from British Gas, apparently some accounts got moved over to a team called Evolve. They say the number’s theirs and you can ring them between 9am and 5pm, Monday through to Friday.
