Got a voicemail on my phone from someone asking for Matthew Leech. They said it was about a personal issue and mentioned the reference number 424302. Strange as I’m not Matthew at all!

They rang my 9 year old son's phone, which I got him just to use as a hotspot for his gadgets. No one else has this number and I never use it, only topping up his internet. So this woman said it was about something personal and asked for a reference number? I asked what she was on about and told her the story. She couldn’t even give me a name, so I said, "I track people down for a living and deal with them, so if she doesn't want trouble, she better not ring here again." Sorted.

They go by ACI. They keep ringing me but dont have a clue about my number and cant seem to take my info off their list even tho ive told them loads of times theyre after someone Ive never met or lived here.

This number keeps sending me texts non stop and also calls me loads of times with no caller ID, always at the weirdest hours. When I pick up, they either hang up straight away or just stay quiet. The messages say they’re trying to reach my boyfriend, which is strange cos they’re messaging me but want him to respond about some personal or legal stuff. They also keep saying “this isn’t a marketing message” and include the same reference number every time. Seriously weird behaviour.

Received a letter from these people with this number right at the top, saying my current loan with Avant Credit had been handed over to them and they wanted me to ring to arrange a payment plan. I checked out the Asset Collections website but couldn’t find this number anywhere. I’m defo going to get in touch with Avant to check if this is legit cos I don’t owe them anything. Honestly, not sure why they’d pass it to someone else. BE CAREFUL - I flagged this as possibly dodgy!

This number has been ringing me non stop recently, and I get loads of texts as well. They're after someone called Stephen Holmes, and from what I gather, it’s connected to some kind of debt recovery. Today I actually listened to the voicemail, it said to press 2 if I wasn’t Stephen Holmes, so naturally I did, since I’m getting a bit anxious about debt collectors chasing me by mistake (and I’m a woman too!). That took me to a call centre where a lady asked for a reference number (something like aci?), but when I said I had no idea what this was about, she just hung up on me. It’s all very strange and feels quite fishy. These calls are happening more often and I really wish they’d just stop!

I've received calls from this number, and it turns out they're connected to a debt collection agency. When I tried returning the call, an automated voice informed me it was Assist Collections on the other end. Quite puzzled as to why they contacted me, to be honest!
