Got a call claiming to be Santander about a new direct debit for Giff Gaff, said to press 1. Definitely felt like a scam.

Yet another number to add to my blocked list, supposedly from Santander, with that usual spiel about a direct debit being taken out. They say if you didn’t do it, just press 1 to chat to someone. Honestly, I reckon my blocked contacts list is bigger than my actual social circle. Changing your number might help for a bit, but as soon as you go online with your phone, these muppets start ringing again. I wouldn’t be shocked if they end up stuck in some miserable little room when they punch out of their sad little lives.

Got a robo call about some withdrawal supposedly made. Immediately looked up the number here. Total scam, watch out!

Someone called saying there was fraud on my Santander account, but when I looked, everything seemed fine with no dodgy transactions. Then, they sent me a link that looked like it was from Monzo, saying it was the way to sort out the problem. Turns out it was just a link to transfer money to them. Don’t believe anything from this number and definitely block it!

Got a call pretending to be from Santander Fraud Team saying I’d just arranged a new Direct Debit to "Giff Gaff" for £45 a month. Total rubbish! Don’t get tricked by these scams. If you get a call like this, always ring your bank yourself straight away.

Got a letter saying I could get a better offer by switching my business bank account. I looked up the phone number online and it showed Santander Business, marked as a ‘safe link’. I called and spoke with an agent, who never asked for any bank info or tried to get me to transfer any money.

Got a message saying someone tried to take money from my bank and asked me to reply yes or no if it wasn’t me. I replied no, then got a call from someone claiming to be Santander’s fraud team. They already had loads of my info, asked about my account limits and balances. They said they’d block my card and send a replacement. Thankfully I had no funds in that account so nothing was taken. When I phoned Santander, they said they had no record of any fraud alert and my card was still active. Really scary and so believable!

I got a call from this number about some dodgy bank activity and they wanted me to unlock my mobile banking. I put the call on speaker so I could listen carefully and make sure no funny business was going on. Right from the start I had a bad feeling because they called me by the wrong name. I quickly ended the call and rang my bank’s fraud department straight away, who told me it was definitely a scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Santander's fraud team. They asked me to confirm my identity using a text they'd supposedly sent before. Then they told me to Google the number, which brought up a Santander page - but that number was actually for new account enquiries, not fraud. Feels like it was a spoofed call to me.

Seems to be from Santander at first glance, but it’s definitely not them.

Someone called claiming to be from Santander and told me my card was cancelled and a new one was on its way. It didn’t take me long to work out it was a scam, even though they had the last four numbers of my card and my postcode.

Not sure who it was, it showed as a possible scam so I just didn’t pick up and have blocked the number now.
